12/18/09:

Hi guys, as a few might have noticed, gttuner.net is offline. I could not maintain it anymore due to personal reasons.

I did create a github repository for the source code of the site:
http://bitbucket.org/kesun421/gttuner.net/overview/

If anyone is not afraid to read messy C# and ASP.net code (my first ASP.net projet ever), feel free to use the code.

Best wishes,

Ke

10/7/09: 10/7/09: Added in user stats page, where it lists the kudos count, submitted tunes count and the full list of the user's tunes. Also made some small changes to the site layout. Please refer to the news update for details. Thanks.

10/2/09: Added in GT PSP tuning support.

10/2/09: Added in track, make and model list for GT PSP. For those willing, please double check the listing against the official car list. I already know there are about 20 or so missing, and there has to be mistakes since I wrote a program to parse and upload the 800+ cars... Make sure you select GT PSP in the game selection dropdownlist. Thanks in advance! The configuration tables and display pages are coming soon.

Update 9/28/09: new My GT page on gttuner.net. Right now pretty primitive, only allows you to change username and password in the profile view.

Update 9/24/09 : debugged search results table and did some organizing in prep for GT PSP!

Hi friends,

I am new to GT and do software programming as a day job. After browsing around online to find good car tunes, I noticed people were all just posting their car tunes to online forums, which sometimes is really hard to read, navigate and compare. I decided to write an online database website just for people to submit their car tunes, making it easier to upload, view and share their configurations (with permalinks and tinyurl support etc.)

The website is: http://www.gttuner.net/

Currently I only have GT5 Prologue setup. I will add more as the games become available.

I don't know if this idea is even necessary. I just did this part because I love this game and part because I wanted to do some more ASP.net coding off work, so any (polite) input is very welcomed.

I am also looking for some beta testers... If anyone is interested, please leave me an email address and your desired username in this thread, and I will try to give you a registration code.

Thank you for your time in advance!

Be care full posting in multiple threads otherwise looks like a nice piece of work

Hi Chunkee_Monkey,

I only need people to add setups and give me feedback on what works what needs changes in terms of site usability.

If you or anyone else can help with this I would greatly appreciate it.

I sent you your username and password to access the site through a private message.

Hi all, if you would like to do beta testing for me, I would be more than happy to setup an account for you. Just post me in this thread. I just need people to use the website and let me know usability changes required and bugs to fix to make it go live.

Thanks,

Hi kesun, I'd be glad to do some testing for you, this looks like a good thing!
Couple of things off the bat here, you have to add a 7th gear for the f1 car, and could the user name, which I'm assuming is the creator of the tune, be part of the filter. I think many drivers use the same tuner for alot of their cars because of their driving style.

I meant to add that in my pm, the Amuse also uses 7 and the Lexus is 8 i think??

List of tuners may also be a good idea, like russ says in the filter, even be able to click on registered tuners to see who actually as listed tunes

Gotcha guys, I will try to add those features in.

RussRobit, I sent you a private message, please take a look at your convenience.

I added in a "processing request" display under the search results drop down and also above the submit test button. This will pop up whenever the website is trying to do a database post/get operation, so now you will know that your button click is being processed...

The "User Name" filter option was thought to be used for one to type in the username of a tuner they want to search for. Making it into a list might put too much burden on the database, but that is also dependent on the number of tuners... I will try out different things to make this happen.

I will also add in the 7th and 8th gear.

Please keep the suggestions flowing! Thank you all!

Ke

EDIT by Mods: Please use the 'Edit' button found at the bottom right of the screen instead of posting three times. Thanks.

to keep on good terms with the mods, dont double triple post, just edit your last post, keeps them happy and away here 👍

They dont have a lot to say but it stops them from pulling on the steel toe capped boots and stomping on you

see what i mean, your lucky it was Jack and that its late evening, now if it had been Jack at say about 11:15, when he's normally in bed, OMG, dread to think what would of happened

Also it is expected of members to use capital letters and full stops. :sly:

Try sending a pm to the guys who have a garage here at GTP, it's multi-national so responses may take some time as they are on at different times of the day/night

Forgot to add, the moderator wanna-b's chirp in now and then, Dans my own spell checker

Thanks Chunkee! I updated gttuner.net with the 7th and 8th gear setting, and also taken out tinyurl and left permalink in. Two was a bit confusing for people.

The site now prompts the user that it's doing a search operation or processing a request too.

I'll volunteer to test.

Hey LinPark, your account has been created. I sent a private message to you with your username and password. Thanks!

Still calling out for volunteers to beta test gttuner.net!

Add me to the list of testers :D

Good idea !

Another suggestion, can you have an "All" value in the dropdowns... So If i just want to see what tunes are available for Fuji I can browse a list of the cars that have been tuned for this track as opposed to knowing what car I want to drive and then looking for a tune for that specific car.

Hey 888Tuning, I just sent you your registration.

Note to all: Passwords are encrypted BEFORE they are stored in the database. I will make the change password feature avaliable soon.

Thanks!
Ke

Hmmm... that does look nice.. and easy... a central place where all the tunes are available :) Im quite interested as well 👍

Hey guys,

I have had feedback and confirmed that the "New Tune" button is very screwy. Sometimes it clears all the tune parameters, while most of the time it doesn't do anything.

If you refresh the page, it seems to work once. But then it stops working after doing a search.

I am looking into changing the display format of results, probably switching to a table view, where each row displays the tune's information and is linked to a separate page where the tune data is presented. That way people can open multiple pages simultaneously and compare etc. That page link will always point to the tune data, so you can copy/paste that page link to anyone.

I hope to get this working by end of next week...

Been trying to enter a tune this morning. One quick item for you is that the Logout button covers part of my name in the Welcome section so maybe shift it all the way to the right of that frame?

Also, when does the Submit Tune button go active? Is it required to enter something in all fields? I'd like to just enter gear ratios OR speeds. What do we put in gear 6, 7, and 8 if there isn't anything for those?

I like the idea of the "All" because I can't find the 4 tunes that are out there right now.

Hey LinPark, thanks for trying the site out.

I will work on the signout button problem. It does seem to get in the way of longer usernames...

The submit button requires you to click the "new tune" button first. But like I said it's really buggy right now. I am working on a better way to do this right now, hopefully it will function properly.

Thanks,
Ke

gttuner.net has been updated with hopefully a better search and view tunes functions.

The submit new tunes is offline for now, will work on it tonight.

This looks like a great resource kesun.421, can I suggest (if no one has already) that you include performance points as a column and a search option?
