You kept going after the second one? Nothing clicked that said "hey, something's not right here"?
That might be heroic enough. ![]() In seriousness, I know people with back problems and its some of the worst pain there is, from all accounts. Hopefully physical therapy helps, because back surgery tends to not be a real helpful solution. |

I knew I should stop but my dad has terminal cancer and I never get to see him. Heck I might not ever see him again so I could not stop playing. They gave him 6 months. I wanted to enjoy every minute I had with him. Plus we sure as heck had some great laughs while I tried to golf. lol!!

As for Sciatic nerve, I struggle with that every day. Difference being, I feel great when I'm moving around, but am in agony if I sit still too long or in a bad positition. Such as Driving a Car. I could only imagine taking the pain I have and multiplying it to the level you're in. In all sincerity, Enjoy the time you have left, and make the best of it. |

I don't mean to sound harsh or emotionless but I've heard SOOOOOOO many injury stories involving golf where the person states with some inexplicable pride that they got injured early on and just had to finish the round. Of all sports, golf is perhaps the stupidest in my opinion. |

But it sounds like you did the opposite of enjoy your time with him. And back injuries often never heal properly; you could have problems with this part of your body until the day you die.

It has been 3 weeks.
Went to the physical therapist yesterday. The disk seems back in place but is inflamed along with the lower vertibae. The great news is that it was not caused by golfing. The problem happened while I was working my butt off over the summer. Digging the yard up for the underground sprinkler, working on vehicles, working on her dads truck for 2 weeks, painting, powerwashing, and everything else I did this summer. 90% of it was all bending over and I never gave it a chance to heal. So golfing just finally set it off but he said it was already damaged before the golf incident. The swelling just caused the disk to slip. Now I just need to take it easy and do some of the stretches he gave me. Over time it should heal itself. My leg going numb is from the swelling in the disk and the swelling around the lower vertibrae. Once the swelling goes down my leg should return to normal.

That's good to hear on your back, sorry to hear about your father earlier. I lost my own to cancer and I know the landslide it is.
Let it heal, though, seriously. My wife's friend is struggling with several herniated discs and looking at surgery because she keeps going on it. |

Yeah the situation with my dad is tough. I still dont think reality has set into either one of us that he probably wont make it through the winter.
The great news is that fall is here so I should have no problem taking it easy. Well until the leaves start falling but luckily I bought a leaf blower this summer. Hopefully its healed by the time snow falls. So I can still use my quad to plow. But it will be much easier to take it easy now that summer is over. I severly abused my back this summer for almost 3 months straight. |

I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Mine is still around, and I see him almost everyday. But I lost my mom about 2 1/2 years ago do to illness. You should spend as much time as you can with him, because you know about how much time you have left. I was not so lucky, as she went to the hospital Friday and died Monday. 8 days before my 21st birthday.
