Does this site have some sort of chat room, like an IRC room or something similar? Such a room, in my opinion, might prove useful, especially if someone wants to get quick advice on how to tune a car and such...

Yes, it is called Live Racing Chat. However rarely is anyone in it.

Oh? Got a link to that by chance? I can't seem to find it on the site. Perhaps that's why it's hardly used

People do use it, but really in the week. Maybe if it was advertised a bit more, like a bigger button, it would have much more users using it, and possibly users even at this time of night.

Does anyone know if this can work on an iPod Touch? It said it needed Java but Java's site won't let put it on here.

A few months or so ago there were always masses of people in the chat. Highest I recorded at one time was around 23 I think.

There's a few people who are in there regularly, I go on their whenever I'm playing GT to meet up and race.

However it used to be full. When GT5 was in full swing the chat had racers in at all times of day, with a player always being able to find somebody to race. Now with the game nearly dead, racers dont visit as much.

The idea for the chat is to keep it low key. To keep it race specific and not to use it for social use, which is why its not advertised anywhere but GT5.

a chat for adhoc party players would kick ass. So that people can ask where the race is at and get answers in a few seconds. And it makes it easier for ppl to request tracks or explain car selection rules.

You're welcome to do that. As a Premium member, you may create your own rooms within the chat system.

i was thinking the same thing for an IRC motor sports room or a racing gamers room ., it would be a more quicker response than the little sound bites . if your on IRC go to na.
