Running a bath

Following the recent pictures posted on the homepage of this site, something struck me when looking at the G37.

All is normal, right?

Until you look at these.

Notice the carbon fibre on the bonnet and boot lid. It appears that you can add it on.

Would you think this is because of greater bodykit modification? (you can hardly call a rear spoiler and wheels a bodykit, but nevertheless)

Or maybe a visual to go with the lightweight upgrades for cars?

Or do you think it is part of the paint job that you choose when you buy the car?

Or maybe even part of the fabled livery editor? (unlikely, but PSP game Street Supremacy had the addition of CF in the livery editor).

Discuss.

And I'm sorry if someone has already made a thread or a discussion on this - I searched.

I just noticed the four exhuasts. Two in the front and two in the back. Are the front ones turbo outlets or does it have the cut-off system? Or something totally different.

I bet its a color option.

Btw a great tribute to JR Rocha, they actually handle the car in the game like its a real production car, with lots of color options and not just the unique one that won the show.

Maybe the black one will be a special edition, won by clearing a certain mission, license level or whatnot.

That is one sexy car. Would be great if you were able to make your own slight changes in body modification to make it unique for yourself

I think its parts that can break off of the main hulk of the car.

I myself think its either more aesthetic customisations, or the visuals to the lightweight upgrades.

I was thinking exactly the same, those images made me wonder. JR's (R.I.P) G37 appears in various colours, but not in it's definite livery....I just want to know the "Name" the car receives on the Car Selection screen, if it's a normal Infinity G37 with all this mods like a "Special Edition" or if it's locked and fixed as "JR Rocha G37" like the tuner cars on GT4 and GT5P. If it's the first one, we got livery editor and extensive mods. If not...well...nevermind .

Im pretty sure it will be listed as tuner with "JR Rocha" as manufacturer (or does he have/had a tuning company?).

I haven't seen that much of the actual car, but I'd be willing to bet a large sum of money that the front pipes are wastegate dumps

It's probably a colour option. One (welcome) change I've found in the PSP version is that you can choose a lot of colours for concept cars now. Perhaps they've just moved that to these too? An unpainted version, and then a painted in the usual Infiniti colours?

That's what they are.

I bet these are just different color options. If you pick the satin black car, you get all the carbon goodies.

Well, some of the dealer events in GT4 awarded you with a special color version (Aston Martin DB9, Triumph Spitfire etc.). Maybe it's something like that?

EDIT: Oops, Forgetful beat me to it!

the pipes up front are Screamer pipes, which are pipes that runs from the external wastegate that just shoots straight out to the ground (or the side)from the engine.

That car must sound amazing when it flies by.
First you hear the engine through the pipes on the front and when it passes you hear the exhaust tone from the rear.

There were videos of it in another thread, but for fun, here's a clip of a car with atmospheric external wastegate dumps.

One thing i noticed...Not sure if somebody else did or it has been posted already (if it has, please disregard my ignorant comment )...but...ˇˇWE GOT MODELLED UNDERPINNINGS OF THE CARS!! . Look at all that piping, the little and the bigger tubes and hoses, the radiator...that's a very thourough job from PD .

Beat me to it

Most cars without a re-circulating wastegate sound like absolute crap. The sound that comes from the wastegate bleeding air isn't really a pleasant sound at all. I had the option of doing a dumped wastegate on my single turbo Mustang, but didn't even think about it. The sound from a V8 huffing through a T67 turbo, bleeding off boost between shifts through a 50mm Tial blow-off-valve is hard to beat
