adhocParty coming to PSN North America and Europe soon

Fresh from the PlayStation Blog, Sony is finally bringing adhocParty to the masses... in English! Read the full story here for the NA release, or here for EU.

There's plenty of us already using the JP version, but navigating the interface blind isn't for everyone. The upcoming NA and EU releases of ahP will make it accessible for everyone, which means more of us online, which means more racing. Thank you Sony!

I hope this is true :) even though im in the UK ill get this so i know what i am doing
 
It's definitely true. Typically, Sony blog posts show up on the PSN storefront the following week, so my official guesstimation is a Nov 19th release date.

THE ONLY thing thaty sux about this is that for ADHOC PARTY to work you need a direct connection using ETHERNET Cable, for people like me thats not easy. i live in a double story house with the main modem upstairs. so this wont work for me cause im downstairs :(
anyone know a way around this?

ahP uses the PS3's wireless radio to communicate with the PSP, which means you need use the ethernet port to connect to the Internet.
 
This is GREAT news! I've already downloaded the Japanese AHP, but the English version sure is better since I can actually read the texts :lol:.

Now, I just need to get that wireless bridge...

Try Homeplug, works for me, I can send my Net connection out to my garage over the powerlines in my house, as the wifi connection is too unstable for gaming out there. Works a treat!

That will allow you to plug your PS3 in via Ethernet, and free up the wireless for the PSP.

this is good because I am hoping someone may trade some of the expensive cars to me.

Hey Denur.

No, I don't have any direct experience with that wireless bridge so unfortunately I can't put my personal stamp of approval on it. It's supposed to work with game consoles (i.e., no software installation needed), but I have never tried it.

The power socket adapters are supposed to be very plug-and-play, and I have a feeling bandwidth might be better with those as well.

I've ordered the Linksys WET54G wireless bridge and am in the processing of testing the connection stability. So far so good, the bridge's link quality is about 83% and the PS3 has an average 5Mbps download link (1.5Mbps upload). :)

Installing the thing was a bit harder than expected. For one thing, the installation SW does not run on Vista. But by directly logging-in into the bridge, I was able to setup the link with the router without a hitch.
The other hard part was getting the reception on a reasonable level by turning and aiming the antenna. But it in the end, things worked out nicely. 👍

It is quite an expensive solution to get rid of the ethernet cable running through the house (some €80,- including delivery and taxes), but it is a fair price to pay when one wants to avoid braking their necks by tripping over cables. :dopey:
