i thought i put my entry for GT300 last round....

My bad, sorted

I hate Hong Kong. So short, so tight, so slow! took me 5 tries to get a clean run in without being punted by the AI in either hairpin. THEN, I go biff the inside wall at turn 2 or three trying for a fast time.

If it weren't for the armco, I'd be swimming with the fishies. Is it Tsukuba yet? :)

im loving this track. i have the set up just right.........

Cant wait unitll we get to Tokyo R246 :D

Turns 2 & 3 are going to cost me serious time come the race, so dangerous at full tilt.

Here's my splits so far for GT500:

T1: 24.626
T2: 51.787

I have no idea if thats quick or not as I can't remember the last time I raced here!

Well, here are a rough guess of my sector times for my best laps so far

GT500

T1: 24.xxx
T2: 51.xxx

GT300

T1: 25.xxx
T1: 59.xxx

Ive taken about 20 secs off my first total time for GT500, and about 10 for GT300

A fine line between a good lap and one that will reward you with a DTP.

Just realised my weight was changed from last round for the GT500...... time to do some more laps

No margin for error at this track, I love it! Its also gonna test everyones following and overtaking skills to the limit with the +10 AI for the race

Splits so far:

T1: ??.??? (too busy concentrating on the next corner to check this one lol)
T2: 50.2xx

I don't. :yuck: I can't wait for the last four rounds, which are all on wide tracks. My cars just go straight, regardless of your inputs, if you brake too little or turn in too early or too late, so I have to tread carefully in order to avoid crashing for five consecutive laps. I did have best-lap T2 times of 50.2 in GT500 and 54.8 in GT300, but I also had a T2 of barely less than a minute on the first lap in GT500 because the AI cars placed themselves exactly in the middle of the track, preventing a pass on either side. :grumpy: Also, my worst unimpeded lap was about 0.7 seconds slower than my best. :indiff: In short, I don't have high hopes for this week or for next week. 👎

I'm with east. I am enjoying this track. And will probably only be 2.5 secs. slower per lap than the customary 4-5 I usually am. 👍

Oh, wait? It's shorter. :dunce:

And what AI setting are you guys using for the Sprint Race? I tried +5 and -10 and I still get a DTP for accidentaly running into a pair of cars that are at a near dead stop at the tight second hairpin.

I usually run at +10 for every race. It allows you to see how the AI cars react to the circut in question and see how the race is gonna go. Plus, i uually go faster if the AI is cranked up that high.

I'll probably try to beat both my 500 & 300 times today; If i don't, i'll just submit them ASAP.

Like KOW, I usually use +10 to get the feel for the real race. But on this track they just got in the way at the tight turns. Used -10 and was by all of them after turn 6G. Figured the draft that I lost was balanced by the headaches I didn't have to worry about in the turns.

Ahaha... Done my race and seriously, I'm not satisfied with my times. Hope that I can do well next week.

Time submitted. I need more practice on this track. :nervous:

Great times everyone! Very close pack!

Congratulations Austin343!

Once again I am amazed at your times:tup:

I was really pushing hard in this race to even get as close as I did. My races were very intense, and it seemed that they were a lot longer than 7 minutes since the concentration level was so high. Pushing this hard for the full race distance is going to make me a basket case. I was running against AI at level 8 diff. I was ending up in fourth place on the track, just behind the third place car. I think I was getting a draft being behind this car for part of the fifth lap. I almost thought that I could catch this car, but by the end I was starting to become inconsistent, so I had to give up.:grumpy:

I have been able to upload a video of my Hong Kong race. It was a great race (for me). As I mentioned, I was pushing really hard because I thought I had a chance to catch the Toyota RSC Rally Raid Car that was just ahead of me in 3rd place. However, you will notice that I skim some paint off the AMG Mercedes 190 E2.5 Evolution Touring Car when I pass it during lap two. I have sent a PM to ABud and Oldmodelt to get their ruling on my transgression. I hope its ok, but since I ended up in second, a strict ruling may be imposed. My second best race was a 6.55.351, but its marred by a wall smack that can't be overlooked.

Respectfully,
GTsail290

I thought it might be a good idea if I posted proof of my times for this round.

Good luck with the race everyone.

No, don't worry at all. 👍 I didn't intend to accuse you of cheating; I'm just amazed that you're capable of driving at the limit every lap, which, when I try to do the same, simply causes me to crash. Out of curiosity, do you restart after light, detrimental contact with AI cars in sprint races, or do you accept that they are the ones at fault and complete the race? When possible, I try the former, in both sprint and full races, but it's a pretty irrational thing to do and I don't really expect anyone else to do the same.

Do you have video capability? I would love to watch the mastery that you clearly exhibit. Again, there's no suspicion, only a desire to be amazed. :)

To be honest, im never really pushing 100% on the limit during the races. I usually drive slightly below my limit and concentrate more on being accurate through the corners and making no mistakes. The funny thing is, once I get into a rythm doing this, my lap times just start matching what I would do if I was on the limit, even though I dont feel like I am on the limit.

I also need to give props to the WOODONE, its a great car, and the time ive spent driving it in this series has taught me alot and has made me a much better driver.

As long as the contact isnt too heavy, and as long as I beleive the AI were 100% at fault, I usually continue, but if the contact is heavy (even if it wasnt my fault), or I beleive I am atleast 1% to blame, I hit the restart button.

I have the ability to make videos, and I wish I could upload them, however my computer is just way too slow to do it in any reasonable amount of time.
