I have heard from a few mates that some people are using multi psn ids for time trial,as to try and protect there position. However i dont know how true this is,but i guess it may be happening, does anybody else know of this?.is there anyway that this could be detected.

Checking logged IP addresses would seem like the obvious one. While identical IPs doesn't prove anything, I imagine they'd be asking some serious questions if two people in the top twenty happened to be living in the same house.

Of course, yes that seems the obvious way hope they do check and act upon this as would be a shame to be knocked out due to this.

And this is partly why they are taking details from the top 30 in each location.

If you only have one account in the top 20 you should be fine

Check out this link for the Swiss leader board http://eu.gran-turismo.com/nl/academ...oard=0&area=64. feutz5 & Egli-racing-team are strongly suspected to be the same person, you can see some discussions about them on the black list, it is certainly not surprising he would resort to dirty tactics like this given how terrible his driving is on GT5P.

I raced a few times with feutz in GT5P and also had some chats with him. He“s 15 years old and doesn“t have a driving license so no need to use a second ID to get an antvantage

I know he is 15 & not old enough to drive but why does that mean he has no need for a second ID? He doesn't need to crash into everyone he encounters but he still does it, he is a cheating little bd. I can't be certain they are both the same person but there is a lot of evidence that suggests it.

What i said is just in case of cheating with multiple ID“s to get better chances for the Academy-Final.
I know his racing style is not the best/cleanest but this could be because of less experience in onlineraces and isn“t subject of this thread.

I read through all the responses, and I'm disappointed.
This theory does not make any sense.

If, for example, I enter 2 ID's, and reach the top 20 with both, I can still only enter once, because I am only one person. Which means, by default, my secondary time would be discarded, (assuming I wasn't DQ'd and BOTH discarded) and number 21 would step in, and so forth.

So you see, DHolland could make 20 ID's, and take the top 20 in the Australian board, and yet he can STILL only enter ONE TIME.

OR, he could find 19 mates and set times with all their psn id's, then they could register for the national finals, probably play terrible and then he wins easy

Obviously he does not need to do this as he is a fantastic player and will do well anyway. But I suspect this tactic may be used by a few gamers - ie posting laps on friends accounts and letting them go to the nationals and lose easily.

For example, in Ireland at the moment I'm over half a second ahead of second place. I could easily do close to my best laps again on various accounts. But obviously then suspicions would arise if 19 new players came from no where in a few days and entered the top 20 lol

At the end of the day, qualifying is one thing, but the national finals are completely different. Anything can happen on the day - nerves and luck will play a big factor. If you are going to cheat to get that far, I don't think you will have any luck on the day.

Will all due respect, you may qualify for silverstone comfortably but compared to many other drivers from different countries your be one of the slowest overall (according to times so far).

There was no respect in your post and Dessy certainly did not deserve that sort of reply. He was just illustrating the fact that he has a significant advantage currently over the rest of the Irish competitors and therefore he could run laps on a different account with a good chance they would end up in the 20 if he was that way inclined, which he is not.

And please do not forget that last year Chris Midmark did incredibly well at Silverstone, yet his Eiger Nordwand 350Z laptime was far from one of the best.

(Interesting how many of last year's national finalists are doing well this year also)

All the best

I think one could try, but it's instant DQ if they find out.

Valid point. Im about 300th in the world. However, my time would still qualify me for the national final of 7 other countries.
