Is the Logitech MOMO racing wheel supported?

It didn't work with the PS2, but I'm hoping it will function with the PS3 and GT5.

Will tide me over until I get a G27... I don't want to use the standard controller... :(

I believe it is, i searched some posts on this forum and it seems so. I just need to get mine off my mum when she will let me... :(

I really hope it is, dont want to buy a new wheel. It did work with the physics demo and i think i've seen people playing prologue with it so hopefully it will work.

I'd be really interested in this too. I was going to play GT5 with the standard PS3 pad but on the other hand I have a black Logitech MOMO lying around at my parents'. I'd need someone to confirm that it works before I go and get it.

Because you don't like visiting your parents?

I bet it will work. If it works on all PS3 FFB racing games it will work in GT5. No worries guys.

It should. I hooked up my Red Momo today with prolouge for the first and only time, and it works pretty well. I dont have a stable mounting point, so with the ffb, its pretty hard to control when the car steps out or you try to drift, but that can be fixed...

Id assume a wheel that works with GT5P should work on GT5 ;)

Man, I hope it will work. Won't have the money to invest in a G27 for quite some time.

Will also test this afternoon, if my game arrives with mail :-/

the blacks work but..I'm REALLY struggling to config the controls and getting the shifter to work right now..the system they used for wheels is AWFUL.

Edit, ugh..we are stuck with using the GT force profile to drive =/ no shifter and 4 buttons...

Can someone who has used the MOMO in GT5 or GT5p help me out?

I just got GT5, have never played GT5p. I have the black MOMO that I only ever used briefly several years ago while playing iRacing and GTR2, until I started doing most of my racing on the 360 with the MS Racing Wheel. As I recall, it was a pretty decent wheel in those games, but I'm finding that it is pretty terrible in GT5, to the point that I'm wondering if it's set up wrong, or if I'm remembering it being better than it was.

The main issue I'm seeing is that there is no vibrational feedback. When I drive over a rumble strip I feel nothing through the wheel. Is this normal? I could have sworn the wheel supported this in other games, so I'm confused.

Also, the FFB in general feels very ham-fisted, almost like it is "always on." The resistance in the wheel feels almost constant, and the wheel always wants to return to the neutral position, regardless of what is happening with the car. When I lose grip, it loosens up briefly, but then goes back to full. I observe this easily when just turning the wheel while the car is stopped -- it immediately returns to the neutral position as soon as I let go. Is this normal?

Finally, is it just me or are there no wheel calibration settings in the game at all? (ie. steering linearity, etc.)

Anyways, I would really appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this so I can decide if I need to go out and get a G25 or something!

Thanks.

EDIT: On further experimentation, I do feel something in the wheel sometimes when hitting rumble strips, but it is very slight compared to what I'm used to in other games.

If somebody figures out how to use all the 6 buttons (and the side shifters), I'd be really happy if they could post the details on how to do that.

Currently, I'm using the GT profile, and only 4 red buttons work.

Yes, works for me, too! I haven't tried calibrating FFB or configurating buttons, though. If you want to use the PS3 pad for menus, you have to set the pad as controller number 1. You can do this from the menu which pops up when you keep the PS button from the pad pushed down for at least 2 seconds. The wheel works when you drive although it is controller number 2.

And I haven't tested the shifters or all the red buttons.

Any news on the red Momo? It's different than the black Momo. I have both the red Momo and the DFGT, but I prefer the force feedback experience the Momo gives.

it works, i use mine. works perfect. you only need the controller when typing becuse it is so troublesome other ways XD hahaha

andy63, does your wheel have a very strong centering force? As I described above, I can't seem to turn the centering force off on mine -- the wheel is constantly trying to return to the neutral position.

If the car is not moving, and I turn the wheel all the way to the left, it should stay in that position when I let go (and be straightened out by the physics if I step on the accelerator). Instead, it immediately returns to center.

I would like to know if this can be fixed for the MOMO, and whether the G25 or G27 has the same problem.

I quickly tested the Red MOMO this morning and it works indeed, but I'm not sure if all buttons work and if they can be mappen. The upperright button is mapped to X, the one below is mapped to O and I know one of the lower right buttons is mapped to Pause (guess that's the start button).

Haven't had much time to test, but the FF feels better than the DFGT.
