Cockpit Shaky Camera

Who else is completely annoyed by the insane shakiness of the cockpit camera, that used to be my favorite view but now I use roofcam, wish they would fix that.

I find the shakiness of the camera to be perfect. NFS shift was too mush and GT5P was not enough. realistically, traveling 200+ MPH is terrifying and the game does a good job of portraying it.

It seems more realistic. But, when I run a NASCAR race now, I use roof cam or else I'll get a headache. If that's how it really is, hats off to the real life drivers.

I agree, It does seem more realistic but i do think there is a BIT too much shake, toned down slightly would be perfect imo, i use bumper cam in anything with more than 300bhp so i can see what the hell i am doing

QFT! I think it's perfect.

I love it. I didn't care about cockpit view in any racing game until now.

But to be fair to all, there should be an option to make it static or not.

Most of the time I'm very happy with it, it adds to the sense of speed and immerses me just a little bit more. There have been times where it has made seeing a little difficult though, I recall one of those moments during the NASCAR special events, the car would violently shake through the banking.

Yup, happens when the tires start to lose grip and slide sideways.

You also can't drive 300kmh into a wall and continue a race in real life. It's the same reason I dislike the crazy crap EA did in NFS:Shift with the cockpit view. Yeah, making it shake and shimmy may seem more "real" but I'd prefer an option to make it stop just for my comfort of playing. Under heavy braking I think the effect is way over exaggerated.

This is the best cockpit realism so far imo. I have shift and it is so rediculous how much that shakes. But when in GT it only starts shaking really bad at real high speeds which totally satifies me. I LOVE IT.

You don't get shake in real life though. Your eyes do a great job of absorbing shocks and shakes. Look down the road when driving on a bumpy surface in real life. Does it shake up and down like in GT5? No of course not.

The cockpit view in GT5 seems to simulate a rigid, fixed camera rather than how a human would view the road ahead.

I hate the effect but would happily accept an option to turn it off rather than remove it as I accept some may like it.

Agreed! Would be ideal if you could choose maybe 2 or 3 different levels of shakiness between almost static to full on shakiness. I'd like to see the cockpit around you shake and rattle but your view of the road stay relatively clear because I think in real life your head/eyes subconsciously filter out much of the vibrations. Well I guess, otherwise real racing drivers are saints :P

Not me. It was very annoing when it was static in the prologue. Now PD changed it and it's perfect.

I have done a small amount of Kart racing (125HP, six speed) and I was shocked at how bad the vibration was and am truly impressed that the guys who do this can see where they are going. It's also physically difficult to hold the steering wheel because your hands get shaken off by the vibrations.

Instead of the heavy shaking (a bit of shaking is fine for me), they should have implemented more wind and road noise like in GT5P, to give an impression of the terrifying speed.

I think it's great! Especially hitting high speeds around that long right hander at Monza and the shaking is just so intense. Wonderful!

Love it. The frame rate seems better in the Narrower view as well. It has a slightly strange quality to it - reminds me of Ferrari 355 on the Dreamcast - which is a good thing.

I like it, all except for the straight on la Sarthe. There's no way some of these cars would fly about like that without losing all control, it's like a freakin' boat.

Shaking vs Static camera, sure its more real, but the tremendous shakness of this camera almost gives me headaches. Thank god Minolta is Standard, otherwise I would have to drive bumper camera against my will.

I have a Civic, and it goes ~250Km/h (150Mph) and it doesn't shake one tenth of my EK9 (even on stock springs) at 180Km/h (110Mph).

Not real, and should be fixed!

I get the exact same thing. It does need toning down just slightly in my opinion.
