Ghost doesn't update to the quicker time?

On the license tests my ghost has stopped updating to my quickest time.

For example, I do a 15.369 as my first attempt at a license, and then my ghost stays doing that 15.369 even though I beat it almost every attempt by a long way. It won't update to my quickest time. At the end, when I get the trophy it lists the correct best time in the top right hand corner but the ghost still runs on the slow time.

It's really annoying cos I find it harder to judge where I am at in tests. It does it on all the license tests, and it does the same after I turn the ghost on and off with the d-pad and restart the ps3. It never used to do this, just started in the last day. Any ideas how to cure it?

After you set a faster time, rather than pressing "restart", press "quit" and it'll take you back to the licence menu (the one you can adjust tires and driving aids from). If you then click "start", it will load up the licence test with your new fastest time as the ghost, replacing your old slow one.

Stainy47 is correct, you will have to press "Exit" and "Start" again in order to load the new ghost. I noticed this started happening after the 1.05 update allowed people to skip the cut sequence when redoing license tests.
 
Even if I set a faster lap time, exit and start again. Occasionally it won't save my new best time.

Especially frustrating when running Madrid time trials to practise so i can beat the seasonal event without Skid Recovery. hNNGH.

EDIT: Also, Organ-Donor is correct about Crash being correct about Stainy being correct.
 
I noticed the same thing. I don't remember it being like that before, something must have changed during this last update. Needs to go back to the way it was.
 
So, not sitting at the PS3 right now, a question: if you do a few restarts and then a quit-and-start, is the ghost the fastest up to then, or just the last one before the quit-and-start?

I had noticed that the ghost updates if you upgrade a trophy, i.e. you had bronze, then made a silver run, but from what's being said here that's because winning the new trophy takes you out to the license's menu screen.
