New NASCAR seasonal info posted on the Information Board.

Starting Aug 24th at 11pm EST a NASCAR themed online racing event. Winners will be awarded the 2010 racing suit and helmet of Jeff Gordon.

It doesn't say if its Time Trial or race but sounds like a race.

Oohh neat. It would have been cool if they would have also included the other 11 suits of the other drivers. :)

But all in all, awesome!!

I hope it's a challenge, like the Vettel one. I don't really want to see tons of players in Jeff Gordon suits online.

It was posted on the Info/News Board when the game loads up.

Hopefully it's not the same old 'start 30 seconds below the pedestrian AI and "race" to the front' formula like the others.

I really hope it's not like GT Driver's Club, shows up and disappears from the board, only to never be heard from again.

I hope it isn't a one-shot deal. For example, say you finished 3rd (bronze) or something. Do you lose out on the racing gear for good? Or is it infinitely playable until you get it?

I read the information last night 2am EST USA

Also had information about the next 4 maintenance updates
2 next week and 2 in September

I didn't see anything about maintenance updates, was that a seperate post on the bulletin? And why would they release two updates in one week?

NASCAR Seasonal with Jeff Gordon Gear!

I won't get too terribly excited about that. We're talking about gear from a driver from a sport with a worldwide fan base of 75 million and average per-race viewership below 10 million. Other drivers of greater fame would be preferable, like The Stig, featured on Top Gear which has a worldwide audience of 350 million (for the actual show, not counting knock-offs like the US version), or Formula One drivers like Lewis Hamilton or Sebastian Vettel, who are viewed by over 600 million people.

Getting worked up over Jeff Gordon gear would be like getting excited about a football video game offering gear from a high school football team.

Jeff Gordon isn't even that popular in NASCAR. If they're doing the NASCAR thing I'd like to see Dale JR gear or even Jimmie Johnson who is 5 time consecutive champion.

Dale jr. is only popular because he's a sob story of bad luck in races and almost never getting a win in several seasons, not to mention the whole Dale sr. thing.

Jimmie was mentored by jeff and has had a good enough pit crew/crew chief/innate talent/car to show good results consistently for a couple years in a row, but as a driver he isn't all that interesting. I highly doubt that he would be recognized if he won one or two championships

Jeff is a 4-time consec champion, has been racing for 18 years (go rainbow warriors colorscheme :D ), is VERY consistent even though he doesn't get a lot of wins, widely respected by pretty much everyone in the nascar community... And he has his own brand of wine :sly:

What are you saying? Jimmie has won the last five straight championships? Do you mean if he won or two instead of five? Then I could say no one would know Jeff Gordon or Dale Earnhardt Sr. if they hadn't won championships, but guess what? They did.

By the way, Jeff Gordon hasn't won 4 consecutive championships, He's only won 2 in a row. He's still a great driver though.;)

I brought Jeff Gordon up to my dad and he made an unpleasent noise. That's what most people think of Jeff.

I like Dale Jr. but I don't eveer watch NASCAR. I personally hate stock cars other than the shiny decals and variety of colors on them.
