Hi all.
So, I got bored yesterday and decided to take a look at the GT5 manual. After reading through some tuning tips and stuff I got to the Credits at the end. I was about to press circle when I noticed something.

(sorry for the tilt, taken with my camera off the screen)

At the lines about Aston Martin I mean.

See? "DBS", "Volante" are apparently licensed model names. But, they aren't used in GT5!
UPDATE: The DBS is mentioned in GT5, more exactly in the description of the V12 Vantage. The following car isn't though...

And it becomes even better...

"One-77". One-77... ONE-77!!!!!!!!!!

After discovering that quite exciting find I decided to scroll down the credits in case I'd find something else interesting, but the only unused car name I found was this.

Saleen "S7R" would be nice to have in the future too.

*waits for the DLC wishes to come*...

Hmm, interesting i will check this out, maybe we can see and compare the dlc that has already been released.. I hope that turns out to be gold!

Not really a founded rumor if you are basing it off of a manual from well over a year ago. They may be licensed, but do you know of any actual attempts to model them?

👍

A game's manual is one of the greatest sources of rumors I can think of. At least that means they have the license and that something went wrong in between.

Did you just stop at Aston Martin? Its possible that they used the car in something other than an actual playable model (ie other car's information/museum card).

Thanks for the feedback so far. 👍

I don't think that manual is actually over one year old without any updating. All new features implemented in later patches such as Performance Points all are implemented too, so why wouldn't they update the credits too?

Good idea, I might check on the DB9 & V12 Vantage information texts as it's the only where I could imagine it to be mentioned. On the other hand, the One-77 wasn't out back when the game came out and it doesn't have much to do with the DB9, so I doubt it's mentioned there. Plus, there is no Volante version of any Aston in GT5.

And the museum cards aren't going until up to date, they all end somewhere in the 90s if I'm not mistaken? Also, if they licensed all cars mentioned in the museum cards, they would've had to mention the older DB5, DB6 or whatever version they showed in the credits too (and they didn't).

This. 👍 I also vote for museum information.

Does anyone have a picture of an Aston Martin which fits this description from the museum or in credits?

Im sorry to say but Porsche and a good hand full of other cars are mentioned in the manual .

Makes sense! 👍

Plus, what can avoid them to update the manual with these latest updates and doesn't telling us about that? It's just credits, anyway and they already made a lot of undocumented changes.

there's no Aston Martin in the museum, nor any card that mentions any of this models, i vote for car description of the DB9 and the V12 Vantage

No, they aren't. I particularly looked for cars being mentioned that aren't in-game so Porsche sure would've caught my attention... plus it's known that PD doesn't have the license for them and if they would, we would know about it and have them at least announced. Show us a proof first. 👎

Even if, it only would've been old models. As I'm not too often visiting the museum I don't know which brands are in and which aren't, but I trust you in this case then.

Anyway, why would they mention the One-77 in the description of the V12 Vantage? I'm going to check it myself right now in-game and will update this thing here then.

Any other manufacturer to look at? Pagani, Ferrari, Lambo??

I doubt those would like a rival manufacturer's car being mentioned when giving information about their own cars...
It's still possible though.

Interesting find, Kiro. 👍
Are there any other licensed vehicles mentioned in there that we don't have in the game?

Good rationalisation - I really hope this comes to pass.

Nice find in any event.

Read OP before posting. :p

it could be possoble that the aston martin and the other cars are just parked at racing tracks.

Very unlikely as most of the "parked" cars I've seen so far were very pixelated versions of unlicensed cars like the Cadillac Escalade. But interesting thought.

Alright I quickly checked the descriptions of the V12 Vantage and DB9 Coupé. While the DB9's only refers to the Vanquish and DB7, the V12 Vantage talks about the DBS V12 engine. The One-77 is mentioned nowhere though. So hopes can still be held up that it's a car coming to GT in the future.

The DB7 (and its Vantage model) came in Volante form, too, so it's possible that the description for the DB7 Vantage (Standard) mentions it.
There must be all sorts in those licence lists, then, going by what I've read in the car descriptions!

Sadly, it might require a different sort of licence to simply mention a car in the game than it does to actually include its "visual likeness" and, presumably, its "mechanical likeness", too...

Seems legit. But as long as the One-77 doesn't appear on a photo, a text or any other thing in the game I'm hoping for it to come still :p
Seriously I'd love to cruise around in a black one. That car is so sexy. Seen it twice in my life...

Isn't it technically the ONE-76 now? Since one crashed?

The wrecked one out of Hong Kong was reported to be heading back to the UK for assessment. Anyone know if it was deemed a total loss?

It's worth noting that in the Toyota section of the credits, they mention the FT-86 (along with every other Toyota/Lexus in the game) but don't breath a word about the GT86. They also talk alot about the licensin for the 2010 NASCARs but don't mention the 2011s. This indicates that if they have updated the credits, it hasn't been for a while....

A little further down, I came across this little cherry
Aerial image of Spa Francorchamps provided by Aerodata International Surveys

On another token, in the description of the S7, we find this...
Mechanically speaking, the specs of the road version were not much different from the Le Mans prototype Saleen S7R, but it's interior was upgraded with supercar luxuries

I don't know what to tell you guys :indiff:
