Where the heck is this?

I've been hearing rumors about a new "ice racing" track, I guess this is it. I guess we'll have to wait until someone releases an article or some more news...

I'm curious to know at what state the physics were at the playstation experience. Maybe it was the OPM2 build or even later. :embarrassed:

It ISN'T Nursnow. Nursnow is on tarmac and the maps don't match. This is another ice rading course.
And you're basing this statement on what, the hacked unfinished track on Prologue that we weren't even supposed to be able to see?

What do YOU think the track is then?

What are you talikng about? The cars in the pics?

Actually ones a lancia stratos, delata s4?, mitsubishi lacer evo 3?, and renult something. So no ther is no car called a modellista present but the track looks fun and the stratos is kinda new cuz it was a secret type in gt3.

Yes I am basing that statement on that, the track may have been unfinished but the map was complete. I already told you it is a different ice racing track, perhaps in like Norway or someplace.

I guess PD never got around to making a narrower tire design on the cars for tracks like those. Come to think of it, I suppose snow tires will be added to the parts one can buy in GT4, even if they don't end up looking all that narrow.

If you just look at the title then this thread isn't about any track in particular, it's just about the Playstation Experience event, but either way you could be a bit more pleasant about things and not double post. I think I have a suggestion for The359 actually with that in mind.

Could be (very) loosely inspired on Chamonix. Nowhere logi of a track name, probably they weren't coöperative in according a license.

But who cares : all these ice-tracks seem to have a "similar" lay-out.

Watch the tyres :

The PlayStation Experience is at 11 and 12 september here in Holland :)
I'm only going to there to play GT4 the whole day :P

hopefully soon the offical Japanese GT4 site may have a vid of it!!! :) can't wait! I think that its going to be another new GT created fantasy track with probably some cool name! the pics are looking pretty good......looks like GT can rival some rally games eh!

oh and one last thing.....how come there is not pit lane on the map, is t because its rally?......why doesn't NY have a pit, or Capri!!

The story tells:
PlayStation Experience: win a car!

Events
Tim Clark, Official UK PlayStation 2 Magazine
21 Aug 2003

That's right, an actual car worth actual cash. Find out how you can get your hand on its leather wrapped gear knob.

Racing doesn't get more exciting than this: two speed freaks gunning their engines, beads of perspiration coalescing on their foreheads as they wait nervously for the green light. At stake? The pink slip for a brand new Honda Civic Type-R and the chance to be called the greatest Gran Turismo 4 driver in the country.

Here's how it's going to work. Over the course of PlayStation Experience we will be running eight Gran Turismo 4 qualifying sessions on the Official PlayStation 2 Magazine challenge stage. The winning drivers will then be invited back to compete for the ultimate prize on Sunday, where they must negotiate the quarter and semi-final stages before going head-to-head for the Honda hot hatch.

The car is worth a whopping £16 grand and she's an absolute beauty. But don't take our word for it. In the June issue of Car magazine they had this to say about the Type-R: "Insanely revtastic engine, banzai chassis, slightly slammed West Coast styling and legendary reliability." Presumably before being dragged away for crimes against the English language.

Anyway you're going to need to put in plenty of practice to beat off what's sure to be stiff competition. Which means that, starting now, you should dedicate every second the baby Jesus sends to mastering Gran Turismo 3*. Quit your job, drop out of university, leave your wife - just do whatever it takes to get good. And fast. Alternatively just turn up on the day and pray for miracle of Old Testament proportions.

Of course when you arrive at PlayStation Experience you'll be able road test the real thing... Gran Turismo 4. Hoochie mama. Naturally, the version on show will be the latest build of the game, and to ensure you get the complete driving experience, Sony has flown in the six-player racing seats used to showcase the network mode. But enough chat. We're already wasting valuable practice time. See you on the starting grid.

*No, we haven't been sniffing the petrol pump - but you can't play GT4 before the event, can you? PlayStation Experience runs from 28-31 August at London's Earls Court. Tickets cost £6 in advance and £8 on the door. To order call 0870 444 5208 or click here.

CooperS: Too bad this was an article of last year, or is it ? Did a member of this forum win this car?
