Something looks weird in those pics. The lighting on the Volvo looks bad. The CLK-DTM looks like it has less detail, and the lighting is strange in the last pic.

Nice pics! I really like the old DTM Mercedes. Ever since I saw that thing kill a hare in a DTM race (I believe good old Dario Franchitti was driving), it's the coolest DTM car ever.
Except for the Alfa, ofcourse.

you sure thats GT4?

Those cars look Sh#t, especially that benz in number 7.

Number 4, shows that we will get more than 2 cars on track with the top down cars appearing.

The pic with that Volvo on it looks strange..
And that Mercedes DTM also doesn't look that good..
I doubt those two pics are from GT4... :)

Good to finally get a shot of the S60 R

The third shot is somewhat interesting. I don't think I have seen a convertble with the top down racing against more then one other car before.

It's odd that Sears Point doesn't have the drag strip on it. There should be a drag strip heading off towards those mountains in Pic #2.

Nice to see a screeny of the S60, although I agree it does look a bit odd. I don't suppose it is, but there is also an S60 in Forza.

Could you show me a pic because the strip might not be seen in that image. And I'm sure the strip is there. Gt4 does have drag racing so why not? And another reason I'm sure the strip is there is the fact PD shows the F1 nurb on the Nurb.

After close examination:

- The Volvo had some blur aroung the edges, but that might be because of the motion. On the roof however, is a dark line which I can not explain and suggests bad copy+paste. See the attechment.
- The Mercedes looked quite normal, although the textures were a bit low quality.
- On both the lighting effects are really rough. Also on the Volvo picture, the car itself is the only thing casting a shadow.

Conclusion:
The Mercedes is not likely a photoshop, however the Volvo is very suspicious. The pictures look like they come from a real early build of the game, or they are compressed using Microsoft Paint

I think that the pictures are just really badly compressed, look at the amount of noise around the PCgames-logo.

SearsPoint.gif

The picture is taken just between Turn 1 and Turn 2 on the map, although now that I think about it I believe that they recently changed Sears Point so that the front stretch is no longer on the drag strip.

I believe the Volvo may be in the "Music Video Mode" replay. Remember how the screen would sometimes be a bit blue and blurry?

I'm sure the track is accurately modelled, this is PD we are talking about! But even if the track wasn't changed, wouldn't the strip be hard to see with that hill the right?

Twin Ring Motegi. Sears Point/Infineon Raceway.

You know how I said that "...Daytona is no Le Mans..." in the "Daytona Prototypes" thread in these forums? Well take word. THIS is how a "roval" should be. Motegi is about the only track that has an oval which doesn't exactly use the oval. Motegi's road course is every bit as competitive as its oval with the IRL nowadays. Since Twin Ring Motegi is a stop on the JGTC calendar, this is going to be another advantage to the JGTC crowd. First Suzuka, now Motegi. I have taped the "On the Limit" coverage of the JGTC, and Motegi is a pretty good track. It's a good track for the JGTC, Super Taikyu, MotoGP road racing, or anything like that. I'm going to like this track in GT4.

Infineon Raceway now. We go east of the Pacific Ocean all the way to Sonoma, CA, USA. Wine country. I'm pretty sure this track is not going to be the pansy road course featured in NASCAR and "Pro Race Driver." The difference between the two is that the wimp configuration disregards the carousel and that sharp hairpin leading to the Esses. The real version includes the drag strip straight and the sharp hairpin. NASCAR Racing and NASCAR Racing 2 for the PC had the straight and the hairpin. And don't go off telling me that there won't be enough American influence to whet the palates of American racing fans. If you're not happy with Laguna Seca, Sears Point isn't a bad alternative. In fact, I think it's a very competitive track in which you have to be active. Speed Channel's Dorsey Schroder or someone said that Sears Point has no real straightaway, and with the lefts and rights you'll be making on this course, it's a nice way to take your American muscle, make it turn, and take down almost ANYONE who wants to take the fight to you GT style.

Two nice tracks. Now go make it happen on gameday.

By the way, I'm not antagonistic about how the cars look. In fact, I recall seeing the S60R or the S80R at the Houston Auto Show this year. When I checked it out, the thing looked like a race car! It was low to the ground, had some mean looks to it, and generally means business. Of course in the Speed Channel "Test Drive" of it, Bobby Rahal or Tommy Kendall didn't have to take a cheap shot at tuner cars.

That Volvo should be a wicked machine. Only surprise now would be a GT3 Volvo station wagon you can race.

great looking tracks i was just checking out ign and i think that opera paris isnt a rally track as i thought because there are 6 cars going round the track and they're lmps!!!!

The359:

You are correct in your second reply.

In 2001, just before Sears Point was name-changed to Infineon Raceway, $50 million worth of reconstruction took place, and among many other changes, the drag strip was seperated completely from the start/finish straightaway. Pic #2 is looking up to Turn one just after the start/finish left-hand "kink."

Also added was turn/extension 9a, but I doubt that will make it in seeing as how the Polyphony guys modeled the track only when the dirt for 9a was just starting to be dug up... :-\

There are two tracks in Paris: Opera Paris is the daylight track that winds through narrow cobbled streets full of tight corners (kinda like the old Rome track ... doubt we'll be seeing it again) and a few nice straights.
The second Paris track is Georges V Paris. This is run at night and it a Tarmac Rally course (though the road looks wide enough to hold a stanard race ... but I musn't get too hopeful) characterised by a loooooooong circle around the Arc d'Triomphe. There's a nice video of an Alpine A110 flying around it at www.granturismoworld.com

As for these new shots, I quite like the ones of Motegi (though hopefully the grandstands will be full). I've never seen the circuit except for about 10 mins when I passed by the TV playing MotoGP.

But what is the terrain around Infineon? From the looks of things it's all arid ... not exactly the best place for a race if you like the scenery, but those firts few corners look hairy. I wonder if the drag strip (I think that's what it is) will be included? It's the obvious second choice after Las Vegas and would probably save PD a whole lot of time programming a new drag strip in.
