GT4 Nurburgring Nordschleife Hotlap Leaderboard

05.16.05 - Things come and things go....this leaderboard is now closed. Thank you EVERYONE who submitted a time. This has been great fun over the past few months. I want to direct everyone to real GT4 hotlap databases like the one here in GTP or one of the few others on the web.

Thanks everyone!

05.16.05 - This leaderboard is closed. No new times will be taken. Again, thanks for everyone who submitted times! Those of you I know I'm still around here (kinda) and you can always PM, others can email (you know who you are)....

rock on!

Coolies - Nicely Done..

Expect a nice stream of PMs from yours truly ;)

GJ Kensei, all i need now is GT4... if by this week i get my Japanese copy i'll get right on it... but on the other hand. if GT4 for the US is anounced by then (with a close by release date) then i'm skiping it.

by the way, i answered the question you asked me in the "DFP pro BUG" thread, did you check it out?

Ya I checked it out. Not sure i want to spend that sorta $$$ on pedals but who knows, I did dig it.

I ran a 7'56.456 with an arcade Skyline R34 Nur...n2 tires (GT4's street tires) with a DS2, second lap. Obviously GT4's cars are geared differently than the demo... :). So ya I bea tyour time..hahaha.

I've built a special Skyline R34 "sport" racer that I am going to use for hotlapping. The R34 Nur will stay stock with N2 tires.

I look forward to seeing you here and racing you again....

Good work, but I reckon you should have a table for cars with a maximum of 300bhp (for example) otherwise it could a little boring as everyone will start using the same car / setup as the current leader.

Having a "low" limit like 300 will promote a wider variety of cars & setup.

See, I considered a limit like that but this leaderboard isn't meant to be that, I learned that from the one I did for the GT4 demo. Sure alot of people ran the Falken GT-R but I and a few others really fought over the R34 Nur with street tires, well off the pace of the Falken, but more fun.

I also considered classes within the classes but then reconsidered as it was all getting way to complicated on paper. So I left it as this.

I'm sure the top of the board will be F1 cars and LMP prototypes with soft tires. You'll get those people that only want to run that stuff. But I think there are alot of people out there interested in getting good times out of maybe not the fastest car ever. There also is a place for stock cars on street tires or custom tuned cars with options. I expect there will be "classes" within the classes, undefined, but there. I already have 5 cars I want to work on times with, none would be the fastests.

This is general enough people can run what they like. It's not a race, just a place to post and compare times.

I'll happily run sub 300ps cars in the Nordschleife. In fact two of the cars I am working on to get setups are sub 300ps...

well, it's a good point. but then the drivers skill would become less relevant. but never the less it would promote more cars.

Hi guys and gals,

I have only recently took notice of this forum and found this thread to be interesting. As such, being one of the first users of this game in the world (From Singapore, bought game on day of release), I thought it would be nice if I can add my views here, just to share some thoughts of playing the game since many around the world have not had the chance to play it yet.

The game lives up to all expectations of being a real driving simulator in my opinion. With regard to the Nurburgring, pretty realistic times have been posted. Will try to send a PM soon.

I had done a 7:49 in a stock NSX-R using sports tires in time trial mode before and after that mostly 7:5xs. I am pretty sure these will not be the fastest times posted since I made some mistakes along the way. I just like to add that GT4 considers a "full" lap of the Nurburgring as 1 lap whereas from the actual videos I have seen, there's actually a start and end line at the starting straight, with reference to the actual best time of 7:56 by Motoharu "Gan-San" Kurosawa of best motoring.

In that respect, lap times in the game can be too encouraging to be true though I would be the first one to say that the game really brings the tracks of the world to your home, as best as it can be. I suppose the lack of real "Gs" experienced by the driver really helps in making quick lap times.

Also, I have experienced some bugs with the game like the brake and accel pedal going bonkers (GT4 DFP). I suppose its the pedals thats giving the problems since I read some where in the forum that the pedals do have problems. It would be nice if someone can give a thorough guide to "servicing" the pedals.

Thanks everyone for reading this long post, I really enjoy my stay here, reading and mingling with GT4 fans all over the world. Nice to dl the fordT vids here. Lastly, anyone can confirm if the Civic EK9 (Factory/Spoon) is in the game in simulation mode cos I can't seem to buy it from the factory.

Regards.

Hi guys and gals,

Greatings and welcome...you may find this forum more to your liking RE: GT4.

I agree with your point that Nordschleife laptimes in GT4 are failry realistic to reality. i know that video of Gan-San in the NSX-r well, plus the one of him in the Subaru Imprezza (both issues of best motoring are on my harddrive).

The "start line" for the real Nordschleife is on the main straight now-a-days, right past the bridge, along with the visitors center and all that stuff. However it hasen't always been there for public driving. I think the start line in GT4 is the same point that the old gate for public access was in the late 80s.

A little off topic but does anyone have a link or file of real lap times database for the Nordschleife circuit?

my fastest in an R34 M-SPEC NUR (stock with S2 tyres) using a DFP is 7'59.858.

usually with DS2 i beat my time within one lap by a few seconds.. but DFP = more fun and more realistic than the silly bs controls of the ds2.. u barely need to counter-steer with a ds2!

btw, those "stock" S2 tyres make any car nearly a supercar, if you want a more acurate representation stick to N1 and N2 tyres (different have different results as to which tyre is more real)

Hey there are so many cars to try but my best lap of the 'Ring so far is 5min 23sec in the Formula car..
Mine too, and it was no fun at all, I had more fun with a stock '91 Prelude with N2 tires doing a 9'02:230 laptime.

So we can submit a time for any car?

Any car you wish. Just make sure you PM me and submit it in the proper format (with proper info) as requested in the second post.....

My fastest time was 5'43.4xx in the final Super Licence test (Sauber 9). Does this count?

No...sorry. We have no clue as to the power and weight of the car, nor tires on the car, in the test, sorry.

If you want to submit a time read the 2nd post and follow the directions.

I am going away for the weeknd, so don't expect any replies until Sunday night at the earliest....

Thanks guys.

I've got tons of experience of the Ring from Grand Prix Legends, SCGT etc... I've done one race so far and utterly SUCKED!:)

man...i don't think i'll ever get use to these physics. been playing for 2 days now and ran a 8.3x.xxx(forgot) in the Evo MR GSR.. and a 9.40.xxx in the woodone supra?... hahaha.. iuno, still learning!

you'll no doubt see a lot of times by me posted up on there. i'll be using the ds2 for a while, and then it's onto the dfp whe i get it, which will be soon. watch this space....

I know I got a 7:02 and a 6:59 as my two fastest times, but not unsure about the exact time, my car is a 92 RX-7 with racing medium tires at 604 hp. I'll be back with more specs of this car and the exact time.

OK heres my official, time:6:59.987 In my '92 RX-7 FD3S. She's got 604hp and weights in at 1082kg. I had the driving aids on, I also had racing medium tires. This was in GT Mode
