A question to the GTPlay race.

It´s written Weight +/- 0% (1026 kg)

The BMW has a weight of 1140 kg with +/- 0 %. Shouldn´t it be - 10 % weight?

I can't seem to find this car on my car list. Manufacturer please?

Polls open! I anticipate leaving them open for about 48 hours, but that can be discussed.

IforceV8
Its a German car.
I hate to be a pain, but I can find no "Vauxhall Astra Super Touring Car".

The closest I get is "Opel Astra Touring Car". Can anyone (preferably from Torc Talk) tell me if this is the car intended? I have a hard time voting for a proposal that I can't figure out which car is involved.

Hello Racer :)

Sorry for my bad english :P

The type of the tires can be choosed by the driver?

Should have the adversaries the same type of tires?

Greetings from GTRP

Hello, MA2003. Your English is better than my Deutsche.

Where the Tires: information says "Open" then the tires can be chosen by the Driver. In Arcade races I believe that the AI gets the same tire type you are running. But either way, the people who submitted these proposals have tested them so they may be using a certain tire type to adjust the speed of the driver's car.

That doesn't quite answer his question actually.

Are we allowed to enter the race on one compound of tire (causing the AI to use those tires) and then change? "Open" would seem to imply yes. But confirmation please.

yes there is a little something that you can do to give yourself a better chance with the A.I, so must we race on the same tires as them or can we race on any tire relative to the A.I?

Anyway there is no way to verify what tires the AI have.

Of course there is. Watching the replay you can change the car you are watching and see its laptimes and performance. :)

Doing this, you can see what tires the AI is suposedly wearing. :sly: 👍

As far as I know, you can't. When you're switching from one to another, you see the same information as you'd see if you're watching yourself (speed, current gear, RPM, location-on-track, etc.) plus the name of the car you just switched to. You won't see his tires though. You can't see ours as well when watching yourself. Although, you see your own tires when the replay is about to start. RSH, RH, RM, etc...

But you can see the laptimes of the adversaries.

The laptimes changes with the type of tires.

The adversaries have with each type of tires another laptimes.

So you can know, which type of tires your adversaries are using.

There were a few Arcade races that specified to enter on one set of tires, then switch to another specific set or your choice of other tires. This information was listed in the long descriptions of the proposed races.

However, for race submittals where this was NOT listed, I'm compelled to assume - and therefore rule - that drivers must stay on the same tires with which they enter the race.

Thats a rule you cant possibly enforce since there is no way to verify what the AI cars have for tires.

Sorry if I've missed the point, but as far as the Long race goes..Can't we just leave the tyres as "Open" as GT Play specified ?? I mean it's down as the last deadline in the schedule. So there's plenty of time for runners to try different compounds and strategies, and some of the more skilfull drivers around the boards can drive on red tyres without pitting, others can pump in incredible laps on softs... Whatever strategy they come up with, it wouldn't be any "unfair" advantage.. would it?, They'd just be finding the quickest way around in the 10 laps, with the same tools to hand as everyone (regardless of what AI tyres are in the frame). Don't mean to be antagonistic or anything, but I just feel that restricting everyone to just one set from start to finnish kind of negates the strategy factor, at least in this particular race. If someone finds a advantagous strategy within the rules, good luck to them.

No no, make a try yourself and switch to another AI car and you are going to see its speed graph and etc. :)

At least in GT3 it was this way, in GT4 its the same i guess.

On replays, the AI HUD displays only the tach, speedometer, gear indicator, brake & throttle. It does not display tire wear indicator, oil change, gas gauge or ASM/TCS activated indicator.
