EDIT :
Looks pretty good, but not really stunning as the original was IMO. What do you think?

Hmmm I dunno, I quite like it for the fact that they have kept the shape true to the original. The original back in the day was one of the nicest sports cars on the road from what my father tells me.

Don't like the design of the wheels at all.

I like the wheels, the are similar style (but much larger) to the original Muira.

It looks a bit tame for a car that will have around 800hp. This does look a bit like a photoshopped GT40 but it also looks like the original. I like this.

When I saw the thread title, i thought "OH NO!!! don't butcher a classic!"

But it actually looks really good (albeit, a lot like a photoshop). The design has been kept true to the original, and I think it looks really pretty. :)

Would make a great sleeper. Love the looks, though I wasn't much of a fan of the original.

I can see why a company like Ford would want to go 'retro' with such a landmark car like the GT40 - the GT is so much better than anything else that comes with the Ford badge. But Lambo doing a retro Miura seems pretty pointless. Lambo have always been such a forward looking company - especially on the design front, this and the Espada concept just seem like a backwards step - i guess this is an Audi idea.

It does look nice though!

How can something that looks like a Miura ever be a sleeper??? - even if someone mistook it for an early original Miura it would still be quicker than most road cars.

Yes but if it has 800BHP you would expect it to look more like an 800BHP car. For instance, you would never try to take on the Veyron regardless of how much power you knew it had purely because it looks like it'll be gone before you've even worked out what it is - it looks like a 1000BHP car. This Muira Concept looks like a 400BHP car ;) But i like that. Shame though i suppose that with all that power you will never be able to see the look on peoples faces as you speed off.

Love it, the original is one of my Top 3 Lambos. Those wheels are hot 👍

I feel like doing a vector of one now...

WHOOAAAAA !!!!!!...

What an AWESOME looking classic. The Miura is one of my all time favorites - and this is REALLY beautiful !...

For once there's a Lamborghini I like. The green and wheels have to go. Give me midnight blue and respectable wheels. I'd still rather have the Zonda, Ford GT, M5/6, or Carrera GT. *shrugs*

hey, coulda sworn i seen a car just like it, went by the name of 'miura' some 4 decades ago... i mena it looks nice but with its design heavily based off a nice design already, theres no real progression as far as design or aesthetics is concerned. its like a remake of your favorite movie or a cover of your favorite song.

Translation?

From what I understand of the text, The designer's the same guy who did the Alfa Romeo 156 and the Seat Altea. Lamborghini is thinking of doing a "GT40" type revival and will decide on production based on the response of enthusiasts at the Detroit Auto Show.

No other solid details in the article.

Interesting design, but it doesn't break any new ground. But then it'd be difficult to top what was arguably one of the best looking road cars of all time. Wonder if they did it on CAD or in the clay? The "New" Ford GT underwent numerous man-hours of design under the knife in clay mock-up and it shows in the flowing curves... while these photos appear to be of a clay or 'glass mock-up, the lines are just a bit too... digital to do the original justice.

Wonder if it'll get a transverse V12?

I think it is a wonderful new interpretation of the classic Miura. Hope to see this on the road some day ( Less those nasty wheels of course )

Nice looking car but nothing mind blowing (Not suprising with a remake really). The wheels are ok being a lambo but I think they'd look better with less chrome and being more inset.

If you're saying that Lamborghini is doing a revival, the way Ford did with the GT, then you're absolutely correct !...

As perhaps the biggest Miura fanboy in history, I'm tempted to say blasphemy, but that does look surprisingly nice...

But if the styling caused aerodynamic problems 30 years ago, what makes them think it'll be better today? If anything it'll be even worse! I don't believe the power claims, either, especially not with a shape like that. I'd rather see it as a 911/V8 Vantage competitor than a Zonda/Veyron/Koenigsegg barnburner.

Correct indeed but unlike what the cracker said its not audis idea but the lambo team. I take it the wheels are a bit of hate it or love it but lambo always give a wide range of alloys. Infact lambo make some of the most beautiful in the world.

There are now 3 miura pictures floating about on the net. Two aggressive styled ones and this. This ones sexy but the other ones are mean and look like 800hp machines whilst this does indeed look more like a 400-500.

Computer/Wind Tunnel Testing > Old School "It looks fast, so it should work".

Yes, the old school method has produced some of the most beautiful cars in history, but if you combine modern simulations with the style, it works and looks like it should.

I'd bet they could pull off an 800 Hp Miura if they really tried.

The question is, would they let it stay RWD and lightweight, or go with 4WD, and sop it in all sorts of nannies and luxury items that raise the weight and kill the fun.

I'm not a big fan of the Murc, and the Gallardo is nice, especially for the money, but I can think of other cars I'd much prefer to have.

This car is already ruined. It looks way too much like the original. Considering how good the Miura looked, that would be a good thing, but it just looks like a complete lack of effort to me. Like the 997.

AWD, louvres covering the engine... this car is already dead to me.

On the one hand, Mid Engine, AWD is an excellent dynamic layout.

On the other hand, the purist in me will always love a MR car.

I do recall reading in the initial rumors that it might be RWD only though.

Bah, it doesn't have the same presence as the old muira, nor does it look as aggressive. Seems a little soft looking compared to to the classic. Needs more slats lol.

Hmm.

I saw on another site that it is supposed to get a version of the Murc's V-12 with about 580 Hp.

Hopefully that will be low enough for them to leave it MR.

I agree I dont want the Miura to be a 800hp hyper car chaser especially if its shaped like that.

I like all these retro ideas comming out one by one... I loved the origional, and I love this one...

It seems perfectly capable of going into porduction. Base it heavily on the Gallarado platform, but use more parts from their parent company Audi to keep production costs down. I would really like to see a more "affordable" Lamborghini go into production as the Gallarado was somewhat overhyped and underperformed.

If Lambo has two cents rolling around in their noggins, they would use the Audi V8 out of the RS4 (414bhp), the same 6-speed manual, and convert it all to RWD. If they use the 911 Carrera, V8 Vantage, Corvette Z51, and Jaguar XK as targets, a mid $80-100K pricetag is within the realm of "affordability" people may be looking for.
