Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 72 Submission ) to (Vaxen):

  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:

Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.
Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers ,named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

First to the party again. :P

You guys better show up before I drink all the beer. ;)

Been running a bit with this one today, got a tune worked out and had some nice online races with Fastas. :)

First to the party again. :P

You guys better show up before I drink all the beer. ;)

I was online earlier and no one showed up at 2 of my 3 tries.
And the 1 race someone did show up he left on lap 2.

As for the beer, it was you behind the bleachers drinking away again, huh?
I thought I heard some kinda ruckus going on over there.

Oh Dang! Guess I'm gonna have to learn this track sometime.

Anybody have any tunes that are working particularly well for this. I have a feeling I might get smoke this week due to my lack of tuning knowledge.

EDK
I've posted mine here. I'm not the best tuner, but I think this is probably a good, basic tune that's quite drivable.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3787438&postcount=13

I also know that Paulie is a particularly big fan of this car, so he probably has something that will work posted in The Lion's Den (His Tuning Garage).

Thanks! I'll give a try. Unfortunately doesn't look like Ill be able to try till Wednesday evening. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

Here is Paulie's tune from last year but not for 600pp and not special for DR, but probably nice to start with anyway.

EDIT this car is a go-kart!!! You can go thru most curves at very high speeds and it's almost impossible to give the tyres any squeeks.
The gearbox from Paulie's tune needs a big update because now it maxes out before the s/f.

everytime I start a 2nd lap the 1st long left hander ALWAYS gets me and I end up in the grass & hitting the :banghead: 👎

What exactly is a personal pass? Had a PM from Jack, wasn't sure what it meant. Thanks in advance fella's.

"I will put your name this week on the registry

Your personal pass for the GTP_Registry Members Forum is : *********

Thanks, Jack."

I have driven this track with the Porsche Club, the entry into this turn in GT5P is much more obscure than real life, and the inside yellow line is not so distrcting. The yellow line will throw you off as it goes into the barrier as a continuation of the oval NASCAR Track....

Another thing not so evident in GT5P is the enormity of the banked turns in real life....

Nice combo Kevin. With your tune I got these splits so far.

T1: 31.587
T2: 58.332
T3: 1:15.082

After using EDK's tuning advice these are the 1st lot of splits I'm happy with.
Thanks EDK 👍

Hopefully today I will get my new Obutto racing cockpit and it might just bring my times down further 👍

After having a go at this for a little while I've come to the conclusion that Daytona Road is my poorest track on Prologue. Some of the corners in the infield section throw me and the bus stop is a hand full.

First splits. :)

58.038
1'14.601

Forgot to mention I'm using Kevin's tune. Thanks for posting it. 👍

Wow. Kevin's tune really does the trick. Here's my splits after a couple of hours practice.

T1: 0'31.960
T2: 0'58.881
T3: 1'15.891

At first I coudn't get on with this track at all but after a while it all came together. Really enjoying the challenge now. The bus stop is certainly fun!

I never thought that this car would be fun.

First time that I tune the car myself. I'm pretty satisfied with the result, at least it's faster than the car in it's stock form.

T1: 0'31.834
T2: 0'58.855
T3: 1'15.714

Loads of time left in there yet, just wanted a feel for it. Can't get going tonight as it is 22:30 here, I'll see what I can manage Wednesday/Thursday time. Using EDK's tune which is very quick, the little Alfa is not so shabby really. Good fun as usual guys, best of luck! :).

Update. Gave kev's settings a try and guess what it's faster than mine. (What a surprise ) Thank you kev.

First shot at this one - what a handful:

0'31.481
0'58.098
1'14.744

Thanks!

As soon as I get my wheel, watch out guys! I'm coming and coming not only for presence. I will fly over the track:sly:

No seriously I look forward to get used to the track before trying to do highscores. Looks like a great combo, I should give it a go during this week.

Wow if you miss that first corner (pretty easy to do) your entire lap is lost and you gotta an entire extra lap, rather than restart, to get a decent time. Here's my early, frustrated, spilts:

0'31.802
0'58.577
1'15.608

By the way, how fast are you guys going when you cross the s/f line?

By the way, how fast are you guys going when you cross the s/f line?

If I get the exit speed from the bus stop exactly right, I hit 262kms as I cross the start/finish line.
