Race Specifics:

  • The car used for this race is from the "Arcade Only" Section. Do Not use a car from the "Favorites" Section.

  • All Hard Surfaces are considered Track Surface. This includes tarmac, painted tarmac, red and white rumbles, and concrete.

Steward's Comments:
To ride the rumbles or not.. that's the question.
When you have electric motor and only one gear , to get the most out of it lift only when necessary.

Viewing your T1 & T2 Time Splits:

  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay'

  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replay Theater' option.
  • While Viewing Your Replay, Choose the "Live Timing Monitor" To View Your Sector Times
  • To post your T1 and T2 Splits, simply post the sector times that are shown in the live timing monitor.
  • The WRS Fetchbot has been updated and will now add your splits together!

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if all four tires would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.

  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind.We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Save your best lap/ghost replay

Submission:

All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 115 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):

  • Please submit your time in the following format on a single line:
    Time: X'XX.XXX
    (Example-) Time: 1'10.100
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the body: "get entry"
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the body of "remove entry".
  • If multiple times are submitted, only the last submission will be counted.
  • Please include in your submission PM your final lap time
  • The deadline is Monday, May 6th 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Why Use GMT?:
GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

Time verification:

Save your ghost replay and keep it at least a full two weeks after the event's deadline:

  • Racers, named by the OLR Admin staff, (if any) will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • Any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • When a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide the correct replay within seven days of the request
  • Failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from the results table
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

If I can be so bold as to go completely off-topic - I really like this guy and some of you might be interested.
Mr. Tesla is indeed probably an alien come to visit us here on Earth and share some of his tricks with us. His real (earthly) name is Elon Musk. He's only 41 (a South-African) yet has achieved a great deal. In 1995 at the age of 24 he said there were three areas he wanted to get into that were "important problems that would most affect the future of humanity, one was the Internet, one was clean energy, and one was space". The same year he dropped out of Stanford after 2 days and founded a company which he sold 4 years later for $340 million. He then went on to co-found Xcom in 1999 which became PayPal. In 2002 he founded SpaceX and in 2003 began work on commercialisation of electric cars which became Tesla motors. He is the main stockholder of Solarcity - the largest provider of solar energy in the States. His daily workload is 50% Tesla and 50% SpaceX.
He wants to send people (including himself I believe) to Mars.
Hey, I ain't gonna get in his way!

I'm amazed at the stuff you seem to have secreted away in your archives  Hope I will be able to give this one a shot this week. Last week the work/life balance got completely turned the wrong way and after putting in 5 laps on 114 late last night I quickly realised that I would need a lot more time and effort than I had available so decided to wait for this one.

Good stuff though Alan, thanks 👍

Amazing story, thanks for sharing

Ah great, another reverse track. :grumpy: I really gotta get out more.

I didn't even know this car was electric.:lol: Shows just how deverse I am in my car selections.

I thought it was an "easy" combo...I was totally wrong.
It's quite difficult to drive this car. No engine noise, no gears, very strange to drive.

23.002
23.229

Somehow, I managed to set my best lap on my 1st lap...I can't get to within .5 of it anywhere on the track

Just had to give it a go even though I don't care for AT & low grip (N3) tires!

I still have my tow chain "CR", where are you? :)

First run. I found the trick with driving a real Tesla is too avoid tire noise at all costs so that means little to no braking. Keep the rotation at max as much as possible. These times will drop a ton.

I'm a thinkn that this combo will pan out sooner rather then later :dunce:

T1: 22.991
T2: 23.181

Shhhhh...... I'm trying to hear my tire squeal :)

First 10 laps

Need to get my ears checked after this week, I can still hear the car going... :)

I like the cut of your jib, Alan mate.

Officially I think I'm on hiatus from WRS for a while... lacking momentum to carry on with combos after a few short runs so a break might be in order. Couldn't resist a quick go at this though - never driven the Tesla before and I hate HSR :dopey:

What a horrible noise. :yuck:

Tip for the day - MR instability off-throttle so keep your foot in for as long as poss and keep some trailing throttle mid-corner. So here's some splits to aim at:

22.115
22.913

Plenty more to find out there, particularly in sector 2. Probably not by me though.

Whoa...just took this baby for a spin and I must say she's an awnery and slippery 'lil cuss. I thought electric car, yea right, how hard can this be on HSR. I must say, this combo is like a sheep in wolve's clothing. Strange days indeed......I'd rather wrestle bears than drive this damn thing. This is gonna take more effort than I originally thought therfore a proper game plan must be put in place. :odd: I'll be back tho. 👍

OK one more go... :ouch:

21.751
22.951

Nearly dropped it in sector 2... this is a wild car for drifting :P Probably not a good idea to try trail braking into the esses - its all about throttle sensitivity.

You got that right. This car is as nervous as a hooker at a Nun convention.:nervous:

She responds well to a gentle touch too Mitch. :sly:

The esses... are a crapshoot for me... carry as much speed in as you can without losing the rear, feather the throttle, pick a wide entry for the exit of the left hander and nail it. If you guessed right, the rear won't bugger off and you'll just miss the barrier on the right. :P I'm guessing that's not too helpful but I hate this track and generally don't find best pace here.

New splits though:

21.750
22.837

I'd hate to see your splits if you were actually going for it Chris

Had a quick few laps and started to understand the combo but electricity, no gears and ice tyres are not my favourite recipe :) . Might get a few more tenths out of sector one but I think I'm already on my limit for the rest.

Good to see that you're taking it easy on your week off. :)

Weird...

23.279 23.438 23.396 22.905 23.269

The last time was with BB 0/0 and ABS 10
