Viewing your Time Splits:
  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below)
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Gallery' option.
  • Live timing monitor does not work properly, so we have to use a small trick to view splits.
  • While viewing your Replay, pause the lap by hitting start, before the end of the first sector.
  • While keeping the replay paused, advance the replay, using the forward arrow on the replay HUD. This will advance the replay to the end of the first sector. That's your T1 split, write it down.
  • Advance the replay again. That will show the lap to date time on the screen, this is your first and second sector time, added together.
  • To post your Splits, simply post the lap to date times that are shown in the middle of the screen. Do not try to calculate the actual split times, the Fetchbot will do that for you.

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if at least two tires in-line would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind. We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules.

Thread rules:
The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):
  • Total Lap Time
  • Any information which can be used to infer your total laptime
The following information can be discussed in this thread :

Submission:
All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 79 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):
  • Then attach your 'Best Lap'/'Ghost' replay in zip file form. Everyone submits a replay instead of listing a lap time.
  • You will need to put something in the message body in order to begin a conversation. It doesn't matter what you put, it can even be 1 letter or symbol. Nobody but the Fetchbot is going to see it, so it's sort of pointless, anyhow.
  • You will get an automated response within 15min, letting you know whether your submission was accepted, or if you had an error.
  • If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post your question in the race thread.
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Get Entry" and any text in the body.
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
  • If you want to submit multiple times in the week that is still not a problem. Just reply to the conversation with your new time and new replay. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
  • See this screenshot as an example on how to submit:

Why Use GMT?:

GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.
Replay Checking:
  • Everyone is required to submit a replay for verification. This happens when you submit to the Fetchbot, and the replays will be visible in the leaderboard, once we've reached the event deadline
  • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Check Needed)
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

@GTP_Dutchy looks like a good one. Lookin forward to getting started on it monday.

Why the ? by the hp and pp though?

Will you be running this one? We haven't competed in a long time...

Loving this combo so far. Although this lap is really sloppy because I'm trying to get used to my new T300! Not liking the pedals though so I'll hopefully be buying an adaptor to use my G27 pedals with it soon. :)

I never did get the whole pumping the throttle thing. I need to watch more replays from fast ds3 ppl

Throttle control is very important to be fast with the ds3. The best way to do it is using the right stick or R2 for accel.
I'm used to drive with X and square button, i tried other configurations but without success.
So the best way for me to control the throttle is tapping the X-button.

hehe....looks like I chose the right week to return after a year away with an event titled "I M Back"! Couldn't have worked out better if I'd scripted it!

Hope everyone is well....I've just started playing GT6 the last few days so am still a bit rusty and am still using my trusty DS3 with auto transmission and x/square for throttle/brake as that is still all I can use.

Have done 20 laps of this combo and it is not my best as I can never get on with BMWs due to their wanting to spin up the rear wheels. Assuming I am still registered (I am still listed on the Registry so assume I don't need to qualify again?), here is my initial best sectors which puts me at the bottom it appears:

S1: 30.571
S2: 1'02.071

I have had a sector one time two tenths quicker but it is my best sector 2 time so far. Will try again but I don't see much more areas where I can improve, other than maybe a few tenths here and there if I get closer to corner apexes. Anyway, having lost my temper repeatedly with the 2 Nurburg seasonals, this was a nice change from those!

well first try at it, a lot of time to make up, the first turn is key to this one

i have a practice room open in the club if anyone would want to join

Not for long mate

Welcome (back)aboard, look forward to battling it out with you 👍

That's not fair....you ruined my script!! It was all set for my triumphant return resulting in last place! Oh well, second to last is close enough. I'm sure you can beat me somehow....you only need a second to do it and, given that halfway through my run I managed to improve by a second in one go, it is very doable. I'm unlikely to improve much unless I happen to nail every corner (and work out the slow hairpin) which isn't likely as I always mess things up! Good luck and thanks for the welcome back

@nursemorph Don't be so sure about last place-the leaderboard doesn't always show the full story.Last week it showed i'd moved up a place, but when the full results were published-BANG-back to last
As for the hairpin,I don't think i've ever nailed the same line twice through there, and if I do get a good line,I seem to instantly forget how I did it-oh the joys of getting old...

Yeah, very true....I have moved various places up and down in previous events from the leaderboard. With the hairpin, I always take the same line into it but never release the brakes at the same point and am either too early on the throttle and it spins round or too late and I lose a huge chunk of time...week 1 of the WRS was on this track and I struggled then as well!

For all the people struggling to learn the track or dusting off their skills. In the 2014 GT Academy this track was used with an 370Z and @Tidgney did a wonderful guide, since that combo shows some big similarities to this one it's definitely worth the watch! It helped me gold the event when I was struggling real hard so use it to your advantage.

@Tidgney this video didn't show up in your GT Academy 2014 playlist I don't know if this is6 on purpose but it thought I would let you know

@randy1122 I was just thinking about out previous TT Battles, turns out we were very close with the "Nada Neons" on the same track in opposite direction (within a tenth) hopefully we'll see the results end up just as close this time!

edit: I thought I'd add @Tidgney 's hotlap in for the people who'd prefer that

A new day and decided it was time for some new music and playing with the brake balance...looks like I need to do this every day as I found a lot of time and left quite a lot on the track in my best run. Have still not worked out the braking zones with a b/b change but I'm getting there:

S1: 29.955
S2: 1'01.439
