Since over the past year and a half, I clearly haven’t been paying attention. How are the Normal four-speed transmission cars increasing speed in gears, when upgrading horsepower?

I bought a close ratio box and fitted to my custom CSL ‘71. I know it switches to five-speed, but I then saw it’s 299km/h theoretical top speed. I then switched back to the normal trans mission and found it had the same top speed, but in 4th gear!

Checked another of my stock standard CSL ‘71s for reference.

Are all four-speed transmission cars treated the same, when fully customised? In increase of speed in gears, would definitely help the Muscle & pony cars. I’d much rather prefer the authenticity of the four-speed, for these era of cars.

I could have saved a lot of Cr. building my Touring Car Masters grids, if I’d been paying attention. I’m also surprised no one pointed that out or asked me why I switched transmissions for my builds.

Well, I did want to use the same ratios as the real cars, but I’d have just stayed using the stock transmission.
