The McLaren MP12-4c did 1.16.2 in top gear with only 580 hp and 1390 kg which is average for a car, it beat just about any other roadcar

1.16.2 is 3.5 seconds quicker than a Nissan GTR in 1 lap in a small track , In the nurburgring I could already see the McLaren being 15 seconds quicker in 1 lap. It makes the GTR like a 350Z

In the top gear review it was even said to be half as comfortable as a rolls royce so it is a pure street car.

in GT5 though its not really any quicker than a nissan GTR , its only as quick and thats unrealistic.

with McLaren's F1 experience

its rivals with similar specifications are 3 seconds slower.

But as far as I know, The Mclaren was developed on Top Gear Track, and the GTR has done hundreds of laps on the Nurburgring. Also, the newer GTR has claimed a faster time around the TGT, 1:17 something if I recall correctly.

it wasn't developed in top gear test track , it was only driven once in top gear test track.

and they havent claimed anything and surely the newer GTR wont be even a second quicker than the 1.19.7

1:17.8 for the new GT-R. 1.9s faster than the previous model.

And I still think that the MP4 was developed on TGT.

This is what Wiki says:

The car was developed and tested on the Top Gear test track before its appearence on the show.

Rumors state that the MP4 clocks the Nurburgring on 7 min dead, and there is information that one of the cars going for the record suffered a heavy crash:

in wiki it was said to be tested for top gear show. lol

but you are right the GTR did 1.17.8 , atleast its just 1.6 seconds behind

There's a video of Jay Leno taking delivery of his mp4-12c floating around on the internets, and the rep from McLaren (engineer? project director?) tells Leno that it was developed on the TGTT as Leno is driving around the track. No shame in that, it's a good test track that should result in the development of a good car.
