NASCAR Racing 2005 NNC Update.

Hellow fellow Nascar fans!!

Check out this free mod for NR 2003 Season. It updates the graphics for the Cup, Aero 88, CTS, and GNS series, and includes all the 2005 changes to the tracks.
It will slow down your framerate by 2-5fps, however. I am running a 1.5ghz processor, ONLY 128mb of RDRam, 32ghz NVida Geforce 2, and it only dropped my fps from a minimum of 17fps down to 16fps in 3-wide action at Talledega with 42 cars drawn ahead and in the mirror. So don't worry about the "minimum specifications" that they show.

Also make sure you download it from the Mirror site, the SECOND DOWNLOAD LOCATION, because the primary download location has been corrupted and I don't know if they fixed it yet or not. The mirror site downloads perfectly however.

For the Official 2005 NNC cars (45 of them) click here http://www.masgrafx.com/masgrafxrac...ownloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=961

Also the first link has downloads for a '05 version of Pocono, and Martinsville as well as some old school tracks.

look through the second link to find loads of car skins, ALL THE PROJECT WILDFIRE DOWNLOADS, some fantacy tracks, and other cool odds and ends.

Have fun and "Gentlemen, START YOUR ENGINES"

No problem man. If I help one person improve his gaming experience then it was worth posting. I just wish somebody else had posted it before I finally found it. It would have made life alot easier, that's for sure.

If i was there and it was an unimportant race id just swerve for the hell of it, cause a big crash....can you get a pic of a huge pile up??

There was a 10 car pile up at the exit of the turn that I wasn't involved in. I didn't take a pic of it because I hadn't fixed the crashing physics yet and it looked like something in a EA Sports Nascar game. I fixed them now and it would be easy to make them do that again (just by dropping ai_drafting_distance down to 1.20 instead of 1.40, I like it at 1.28) It'd be fun to watch what would happen if they wrecked like that now that I've fixed the crashing physics. 💡

I'll be back tommorrow with an EVIL pic of a 40 car pile up. :mischievous:

Note that these changes were made by ME. However feel free to make them fit your needs.

Example, if the racing is too close for your taste: either decrease the ai_drag_modifier by an increment of 0.01 (ie, if it's at 1.10, drop it to 1.09), OR increase the ai_drafting_distance by an increment of 0.05 (if it's at 1.30, increase it to 1.35)
And vice versa if it's too spread out for you.
