This game looks really cool and fun.

The Story:
You play as Daniel Garner, a seemingly regular guy who has just been killed in a horrific car accident. Trapped in a dark and unwelcoming world between heaven and hell, you struggle to uncover the reasons why you've been denied entry to heaven. Awaiting your purification, you must fight through an endless number of demon soldiers as you attempt to stop an imminent unholy war.

I havent installed it yet. I will now and let you know how it runs.

Hmm... Lots of gore like Soldiers of Fortune? But not offensive like Postal 2? And realistic? Hopefully? I'll have to try it.

Hmmm, my system is on par with yours VM. I'll download it overnight and post some screens after class.

:irked: I get to where the game is loaded and then it kicks me to the desktop, I tried to go the the Painkiller forums and I can't log in.

Awesome, I had a question. Whenever I run some games or flash websites for longer than 3-5 minutes, my computer fan starts spinning, enough for me to hear. That's normal right?

Painkiller, IMO, is the best looking game on the market right now. The levels are so beautiful and brutally horrifying at the same time. It kind of reminds me of Quake III. I love how it goes from a European medieval type town to an Arabic style palace. The architecture and pure style is amazing.

I have a Athlon 2000+ 1.67 GHz, 512MB DDR PC2700, and a GeForce 3 Ti500 and it ran quite well, better than UT2003, and definitely better than the Far Cry demo. It did chug when there were a lot of enimies on screen. I had 2x AA, 1X AF, and 2x Multisampling on without shadows. The FPS was very smooth through out the game. Let's not forget the Havok 2.0 that's in this game. Balconies collapse, spraying the undead, and baddies falling from high places, bouncing all the way down to the ground.

What impressed me the most was the sound. I had 5.1 and EAX 2.0 enabled was an audio feast to say the least. You could hear blades fly past you and horrific screams in the distance. The music changed through out the environments and was very fitting. Unfortunately, the sound got corrupted at the end of the 2nd level and I could not complete it.

Here are some pics I took of the game:

Here is a shot of the 'overdrive', I suppose. You are invincible in this mode:

Here is my favorite pic. I love the style and the geometry of it:
