StarLight Presents the Willys AW 380 Berlinetta 2015!

Who cannot wait for the new sports car of Renault Alpine, could now use his savings already and take the pricey Willys AW 380 Berlinetta which could be just another Alpine A110!

The Italian manufacturer Maggiora has with Carrozzeria Viotti the old brand Willys revived. Willys we know mainly from the Jeeps, but the brand also built the Alpine A108 under license in Brazil, that there went through life as Willys Interlagos. The fact that this AW 380 Berlinetta - especially from the front - reminds me of his successor, the A110, it also does not come completely out of the blue.

Maggiora in collaboration with Carrozzeria Viotti have unveiled the 2015 Willys AW 380 Berlinetta at the todays Bologna Motor Show 2014.

If you are wondering why it looks like a more modern Renault Alpine A108, that's because between 1962 and 1966 Willys built 822 units of a model called Interlagos which was actually based on the Alpine. The first Brazilian-made sportscar has now been resurrected by Maggiora and Carrozzeria Viotti with a contemporary take on a classic design.

It's more than just for show as the Willis AW 380 Berlinetta will actually go into a limited production of 110 units next month for those willing to pay the starting price of €380,000. Set to be assembled in Turin, Italy, the car is motivated by a 3.8-liter bi-turbo six-cylinder engine producing 610 bhp (455 kW) and 830 Nm (612 lb-ft) all wrapped around in a carbon fiber body which enables the car to weigh only 1,350 kg (2,976 lbs).

The rear-wheel drive 2015 Willys AW 380 Berlinetta has a six-speed gearbox and will need only 2.7 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint before topping out at 212 mph (340 km/h). It has a MacPherson struts front suspension combined with a multi-link rear arrangement while stopping power is provided by ceramic composite brakes with 380mm front / 360mm rear discs and six-piston front / four-piston rear calipers.

The vehicle is 4433 mm long, 1940 mm wide, 1228 mm tall, with a 2418 mm wheelbase and 19-inch front / 20-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped around in Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires. The creators say it will consume 18.9 liters / 100 km (12.4 mpg US or 14.9 mpg UK) in the city and 9.2 liters / 100 km (25.5 mpg US or 30.7 mpg UK) on the highway.

The 2015 Willys AW 380 Berlinetta will be exhibited starting today until December 14th at the Bologna Motor Show and only 109 cars are still available as the first one has already been sold.
to the Russian group Rumos granting its commercialization in the Balkans, while Habtoor Motors will distribute it in the Emirates.
