Rat Race is a standalone companion app featuring a single-player quick-race generator, custom race rules, progression, and rewards.
Choose between a curated Default pool or generate a Custom roster from your installed mods. The scanner automatically filters out broken layouts with grid spawn collisions or missing/corrupted AI splines. You can freely fine-tune your pool by toggling specific cars, tracks, or weather presets on or off (either globally or for specific conditions).
Strict track limits and damage thresholds keep racing clean: cutting requires you to bleed off speed or yield positions, and terminal damage forces a restart. The session timer runs continuously across restarts, so mistakes directly drain your remaining race time.
To prevent diving past bunched-up AI in Turn 1, a 20–30 second overtake lockout is enforced off the line. This allows the pack to spread out and reach full race pace before overtakes are permitted.
An integrated Lua overlay displays helpful race info and enforces rules. It is only active during Rat Race sessions and remains inactive during standard Content Manager launches.

- Academy: A series of lesson challenges that walk you step by step through the rules and mechanics of Rat Race sprints and Tournament mode.
- Tournament: A multi-race championship scored by finishing position and total cumulative session time, so the faster you clear each stage, the higher you rank. A local leaderboard stores your personal bests and supports hot-seat play with friends on the same PC. There is also an asynchronous multiplayer mode for remote competition on your own schedule. It requires no dedicated server: the host creates the event, and stage settings and standings are synced between players via shareable text codes (e.g., through Discord or any chat).
- High Stakes: Start with a small bankroll and work toward a target credit goal. Before each race, predict your finishing position, back yourself with a wager, and hit or beat the target to multiply your credits.
- Knockout: An escalating, all-or-nothing gauntlet with a tiered prize ladder. Each stage adds more AI cars to the grid and grows your pot, but a single loss wipes out all accumulated earnings. After any completed stage, you can bank your winnings and walk away, or put it all on the line for the grand prize.
🤖 Enhanced AI & Dynamic Ghosting:
- Realistic AI Racing Etiquette: AI opponents now respect corner ownership: if you’ve earned a half-car-length lead, they will back off instead of clipping your rear quarter-panel as you take the racing line.
- Dynamic Crash Ghosting: Cars that spin, run off-track, or attempt an unsafe rejoin are temporarily ghosted, preventing multi-car pileups and keeping the race flowing.

Install & Uninstall
- Install: Extract the ZIP file and run RatRace_Setup.exe. If prompted by Windows SmartScreen, click "More info" ➔ "Run anyway" and accept the administrator prompt.
- Uninstall: To remove Rat Race, open Windows Settings ➔ Apps ➔ Installed apps, select Rat Race, and click Uninstall.
