Recreate a real photo

Its harder than I thought but wanted to see if anyone can get a good likeness to a real picture. Of course it wont always be perfect as far as background and the right shades of color but the closer the better.

Heres my first attempt :indiff:

Glad the idea appeals to you guys...

It takes some time setting up the shot....and may never be perfect but its kinda fun. It doesnt have to be on the same track as the real picture, just as long as its similar. I was hunting down photos last night, this weekend Ill try to add a couple.Picking the right track with the right lighting is key.

This is a great idea, I have been doing this with some Nurburgringpictures a while ago. Great shots can be duplicated almost identical. Check out the VLN-rennen photoreports at www.nurburgring.de for cars on the Nordshleife. You will find a red Viper, a black Mercedes 190 2.5 16 evo, loads of Porsches and more. The Karussel (pictures from inside de corner) is the most easy one to do but there are other interesting places. There are shots where you can see cars jumping at Phlanzgarten 1, the pictures have been taken from the lefthandside of the track(in drivingdirection) just before the jumpingarea and you can see the cars in the air pointing nosedown heading towards the righthandcorner. I have managed to duplicate these pictures almost identically in GT4 and it looks dramatically real!! Everything looks as in the real picture : the angle of the car the track, where the rightside curb begins in the background etc etc.

Ideally you would want to use a photo taken at a track thats in the game, but some cars are hard to find any real pics of...like the 63 vette racecar....I finally found an actual shot of the car....but the background doesnt look like anything in the game. :yuck:

I might spend satuday messing with this.

Sometimes you have to settle with a car just looks similar. Im going to shoot the C5R vette but most of the photos I have are of the newer paint scheme. Oh well it should still look good.

Right camera anels just need to work on the lighting wich i know will be hard cuzz that one is at nighttime and unfortunatly our cameras on the game dont have a flash... :indiff:
