Welcome to Week 42 of the GT4 PhotoMode Competition​

"Black & White"
  • Take a photo of any car on any track in Black & White. I'm looking for well composed shots that make good use of shadows and tones
  • You must use the B&W filter provided in GT4 PhotoMode (triangle button) - don't convert a colour photo into black & white
  • White balance may be used to give the photo a cold or warm tint, but don't be excessive. Such colouration should compliment the shot and not be its main factor - subtlety is the key

  • This competition will run for one week.
  • The approximate deadline is December 17th.

  • You must use only your own work that has not previously been entered in any competition.
  • Only one entry may be submitted, mark it clearly as Final Entry.
  • Use to host your entry and copy the 'Thumbnail for forums' code into your post.
  • You may change your Final Entry once. If you do so, please edit your original entry make a new post linking to it. Minor updates to the same image are allowed.
  • Do not ask other members to choose your final entry.
  • Additional photos may only be posted in the form of either two honorable mentions in thumbnail form, or a single preview image that does not to exceed 400x300 pixels in size.
  • Photoshop or other graphics programs may only be used to crop, resize, adjust brightness, contrast or gamma, rotate, add a border or small signature, or to remove the "Gran Turismo/©SCEI" watermark, if you so wish. If you don't have Photoshop or other professional image management software, try a shareware one such as IrfanView or GIMP.
  • Photoshop or other graphics programs may NOT be used to change levels, hue, saturation, sharpen, apply filters or otherwise manipulate the image in any form.

That's three out of the last four weeks that have had little to no limitations. Though I could only participate in two of those three ;).

This should be lots of fun, it's been a while since the British B/W theme. Nice one Brock! 👍

Muhaha... Lucky I have afew Black & White shots in my UBS at the moment.
I guess I will have to use Microsoft word to adjust the contrast this time :lol:

yea, im loving these open comps. i think this one should bring some nice entries. that British comp was the first time a made the top 20. :)
 
I feel like doing something different this time. I assure you that I only used brightness and contrast. Comments are welcome, of course.

I'm glad you're happy with another open theme, I had to think of something quickly as I didn't think I was going to win the tie-breaker when I got up today!

I enjoy taking B&W photos and I'm keen to see whan everyone else can come up with. There's some nice shots already, in particular speedy_2 & arsenal - both good work!

Oh nice! Just got finished with a B&W update on my gallery and now you give us this... Don't get me wrong, I like taking B&W shots, it's just the editing that takes skills... But I'll see what I can come up with.
BTW, arsenal, that shots is insane :eek:
 
Darn, I have a great B&W shot but it's in photomode...
I'll dredge something up.
 
I hope you like this as my previous, since I can't use that shot anymore.

How did you get 2 cars together with the top down?

(& nice one sej)
 
When you chose a car in Arcade mode in Single Race and specify the top being down, you only get one competitor, Vonie :)

this is amazingly one of my first b+w shots as ive never actually liked the look on most cars
