Round 5: SKYCITY V8 Supercars Darwin at Hidden Valley (Fuji 90's)
The Aussies are back!!! Yes, hello everyone and welcome to Round 5 of the Australian V8 Supercar Series, and the first round of 2006. All the teams and drivers have had their Christmas and New Year break, and should be fighting fit and ready to resume their racing duties!

Anyway, just to recap, The Internet is leading the championship after winning 5 of the 8 races so far in the season (2 races in each round). His rival, boomboy, is not too far behind, though, and managed to break his winning streak in China by taking a double win, while Inty had to settle for two 2nds.

So, we resume our series here at the beautiful Hidden Valley circuit in Darwin. This track has its techinal sections, but the cars can let loose their power on the long pit straight. They will have to time their braking though, since a VERY sharp right-handed hairpin will await them at the end.

Now, that's the pleasantries done, so let's get down to business with the qualifying!!!

Qualifying Session

Qualifying is a 5-day session, so that gives you no excuse to miss it! :D 1 qualifying time must be sent in via PM by Friday 20th January at 11:59PM GMT GMT Time Convertor: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

Qualifying Results

1st: The Internet - 1'20.114 - #21 Dutch Bros. Golden RT FPV GT
2nd: Electric....... - 1'20.556 - #385 Alcohol United Racing Team Croatia

(The Internet get 3 bonus points for pole position)

Race Session

Race session are two days long. Send 2 race times in by Sunday 22nd January at 11:59PM GMT!

Happy Racing! :D

I'm in, of course.

Done with my qualifying lap, put about 90 minutes in on tweaking and racing. Now all I have to do is find my camera's USB cable...

Yes, I'm in too. Also, my dad got a digital camera for Christmas, so now I can take pictures of my times. :)

Oh, and don't forget that I have switched to a Holden.

T3 time:1'03.835,1 second point 115 slower than The Internet's,after just 2 laps, no tweaking done.

I'm still in the FPV.

Quick question. How much horsepower is the Holden suposed to be making?

I ran a really quick time with-out even working at it, about 2 seconds faster than the T-times posted already. When I went back to the garage I noticed that the horsepower in the Holden was at 722. This is high.

Perhaps it was an oil change? I hope I don't have to go buy a new Holden, because right now I don't have the money, and I don't have the time to do the DTM to get the money.

If I do have to buy a new Holden, I will use the GT for this race.

Oil Change is on the allowed list for the FPV but I don't see it for the Holden. I'm assuming, then, that it's not legal to change the oil on your car, and that would explain the high horsepower.

Sorry nitro. I have a couple of tests to study for. I will be here for the race, and I might be able to sneak in a time tomorrow after school. And do note that I will be in the FPV still, since I'm super poor ATM.

Same here. Might be able to squeeze a time in on friday night or saturday. During the week I have work from 8:00am to 5:00pm, then I'm in school from 6:00pm to 10:50pm.:guilty:

Sorry i missed this round i have been away on holiday and got back 5 minutes ago.

Just a suggestion but how about given us a few days to get our race times in?

BTW wheres your time Nitro?

Yo guys sorry I've been away for so long. Moving house and other priorities took over but I'm back!!

So 2 quali times eh? That must be some kind of record!

Guys, I really am cross now. We've only recieved 3 times for both races and this has gone on long enough. What I am going to say next WILL happen if I'm not happy. I am going to put up a poll to decide what we do next. Do we either:

1) Cancel the rest of the series
2) Postpone it
3) Restart it
4) Continue with the poor amount of entries that turn up each race

I was going to close the series altogether. If I had, you only had yourselves to blame. I know that some of you have work and other factors of life you need to deal with, and I understand that, but there were some people who didn't tell me they couldn't turn up and got me annoyed, or promised to turn up but then "forgot", and then there are some people who agreed to sign up, but have not turned up for one single event.

Because I am not happy at the moment, and there weren't enough entries for this week, there are no results for Round 5. Round 6 will take place at a later date, and I will decide when that is. I'm sorry, but it's the only way for you guys to learn your lesson.

I would like to thank The Internet, Soyfu and boomboy for sending in their times and I apologise that I may have wasted their time.
