Just to "tease" you guys I'll give you a one-pic-preview on what's waiting for you tomorrow.
May I introduce you all, my Bullitt-reconstruction (with what the game has to offer):

Tomorrow you'll get a full update with those two cars playing cat and mouse on Seattle. Keep waiting!

And comment on the preview while waiting!

Thanks stanierjames and rohrl!

And here is my Steve McQueen / Bullitt tribute update:

It's another BW update, yes. Just live with it :p
The pics may not be as clean as they could be and the blur messed some of the cars' lines but I'm fine with it.
Also I know that in the movie the cars go down hill but I kept trying for 3 (!!!) hours just to get the GT350 against my Charger in the Seattle reverse, but the closest rival car to the Shelby was a C2 Corvette. So that's why I decided to make the shoot at the Old muscle car competitons Seattle (normal).
The Shelby G.T. 350R isn't Steve's car in the movie, but since Polyphony has left the GT390 out, I thought the G.T.350 was the closest. So I used it. For some time I thought of making this a color update and "painting" the car green with PS, but I thought it's close enough.
The Charger isn't the exact right one either, since the Charger in the game is the '70 model and in the movie they have the '68 model. Also the lights should be off, but the game doesn't have an on/off switch so they were automatically on.
I'm pretty happy with this update, though it would be way cooler if the jumping pic was actually done down hill and if the cars were the exact same models as in the movie, but... :indiff:

COMMENTS PLEASE!

Thanks!

Very, very nice!!! 👍 I'm a Bullitt-fan myself and I love this magnificent update!

Too bad the Porsche 917 Gulf and the Ferrari 512S aren't in GT4. You could have made a tribute to "Le Mans" then as well! We already have the track! It's been a while since I've seen the chase. Did you know that the sound of McQueen's Mustang was actually a recording of a GT40? No wonder that thing sounds so nice!!!

In any case, wonderful stuff. Terrific update!!!

Thanks rohrl!
Yeah I think it kinda shows... or sounds, when he accelerates and does the burnout after driving wide in one turn. The GT40 engine sounds I mean.
I watch the movie at least once a week from DVD. Absolutely a stunning movie. By far the best "car movie" ever made!
And yeah, it is too bad they haven't put the Porsche and the Ferrari in the game. I definately would be doing a tribute for LeMans too! :dopey:

@ bluedot Thanks mate :dopey: And it was propably the most enjoyable photo shoot I have ever done. I even had to drive to keep the Shelby behind me :dopey:
@ Fletch Yeah that's what I thought too when I decided to leave the colors away :dopey: Thanks!

Oh damn! I even missed this update after being back since wednesday. Sorry for that my friend.

The first shot (banner) looks like the poster of a movie. The title totally fits the theme. My favourite in this wondeful BW update has to be the 2nd one. Great contrast between the white and black car on a well fitting background. The 3rd looks like in a wild chase in your "movie". The good guys after the bad ones. You can really feel the tension.
The 4th one is a little bit motionless I think. The angle is great, but I'd like too feel something more when I'm looking at two muscle cars head to head (or tail to tail) blasting down a straight.
The last one is also very nice. I don't really like jump shots, but This one looks just fine. The bw makes it look amazingly interesting. The bright headlights are the central point in it for me. A little bit motion on the ground above which they are flying would've made this one perfect...

Please keep your shots coming. (and continue entering the competions so can get closer in our little battle...) :)

How did I miss this?! This has to be the most ass-kickinest set of pics ever!:cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers:

Can you tell I'm a fan of the movie?:dopey:

The last one is great, this doesn't mean that the others are bad either but it's easily the best of them all, the bright headlights glowing in the semi-dark alley. 👍

The movie is great indeed, I've seen it twice now. :)

You can expect a muscle car update from me some day, as soon as I can hijack our TV for GT4 use. :D
