Welcome to RVV Motor Works!

Hello, dear pre.. I mean customer! Welcome to our tuner garage.
We are here to provide a varied, balanced bunch of tunes, each with it's own flavor, and to help others get a better grip on their own tuning or do the tuning for them if they so wish.
Tuning in GT4 is great, but making it so others can profit from these tunes is even better!
The idea is simple, drive one of our set-ups, write a review about its handling and characteristics and post it here. Doing this makes us, well, very happy ;), so you can have a personalized set-up, personal banner (If Vince is available), whatever you would like in return. Just ask!

Experiments:

The tunes

rjsigpb8.jpg

Hey, I'm Rotary. I usually go for the all-rounder approach with the occasional nutcase of a car, almost always tending slightly to oversteer whenever possible. I never focus on power, as power is nothing without control; rather, I try to make the car as fast as possible while still being comfortable to drive. If that means less power in the name of a better power band or to control wheelspin, so be it, but those vehicles that love every last bit of power you can throw at them, well, I like to keep them happy. ;)

See 'ya,

Kyle (AKA Rotary)

My Tunes:

VTiRojBanner.jpg

I'm VTiRoj, but you can call me Roj. If I'm not racing you can find me at Trial Mountain spanking the supercars. I have 2 tuning styles I usually like to stick to. One is a style that focuses on balance, and the ability to take on any race, any track, without any setup adjustment at all except tyres. The other focuses on making the car enjoyable to drive, something to put a smile on your face everytime you take it around a corner. I usually tune with S3 tyres, coupled to a car with a reasonable amount of horsepower. Feel free to review any of my cars, and in return, I'll tune a car for you.

Take care.

Roj.

My tunes:

bannervincexk6.jpg

Hey, I'm Vince. I do a good bit of the banners and graphics you see here, and I had been in charge of updates until recently, when real life caught up to me a bit.
I'm quite addicted to Mustangs and Concepts because of their sleek visuals, so if you'd like a tune in that direction, don't worry to ask me! In return of a review, I can write you a review, make you a banner or give you some good advice on making one yourself provided I can find the time.

Thumbs up,

Vince.

My tunes:

The Reviews

We need some test drivers to give us a good second opinion about our tunes. Apply now!

Vince likes Suzuka, Roj and Rotary turn to Trial Mountain and occasionally others for tuning, but there are few tracks our cars truly hate. (hint hint)

This is how we like our reviews, get inspired.
Get even more inspired!

Must have FC suspension, weight reduc stage 2-3, and a LSD. Trans reccomended. See notes.

SUSPENSION:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Spring Rate:-------7.5/9.0
Ride Height:-------120/130
Shock Bound:-----4/3
Shock Rebound:---5/4
Camber:----------2.3/2.0
Toe:--------------2/1
Stabilizers:--------6/2
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Transmission:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Final to 5.500, auto set to 1, then set ratios and final.
Ratios are [2.730/2.018/1.593/1.315/1.135/1.000]
Final of 3.080, see notes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

LSD/Downforce and others:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
LSD: 7/30/10

Downforce: None, but see notes

Aids: None at all
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes: This car will work at sub-450hp levels on S grade tires very well, but adding downforce will help the car on these tires as it's easy to overdrive it at the limit at 400hp. It'll stay happy on R1's all the way up to full power, but wheelspin can be a problem in first. Hope you like the balance. Preferred is S2s @ 400hp or so.

Extras: Racing brakes and balance controller:Balance to 5/5 on S, 5/3 on R.

Downforce: Untested, but should make this into the ultimate supercar whoopster. Cornering would give a good Group C a run for its money.

Notice: Do not apply engine balancing before setting gear ratios.

Ahh the Spyker, one of the few cars that are made in the Netherlands. It is also one of the few that is hand-built from scratch.
Have fun, just don't forget to write me a review.;)

Keep 'er stock, but run R2s. Who needs power when you can CORNER?

SUSPENSION:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Spring Rate:-------8.0/4.0
Ride Height:-------85/95
Shock Bound:-----1/1
Shock Rebound:---1/1 The soft shocks allow the car to "follow" the road surface better on rough tracks, and the soft rear compresses lower than the nose to reduce drag under acceleration
Camber:----------2.3/1.8
Toe:--------------0/0
Stabilizers:--------4/6
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Transmission:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Final to 5.000, auto set to 4, then set ratios and final.
Ratios are [3.062/2.060/1.495/1.200/1.000]
Final of 3.400

I may change the ratios to lengthen 1st/2nd a bit, but I'm happy with the 3.4 ratio overall 5th. It has a problem with unloading the rear tires at bad times over bumps/dusty spots on the track in second, a problem I did not notice with steeper gears (On R1's for testing, because I want it controllable). (I had done some experimenting with a taller final to see if it would help the straights, but it didn't.)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

LSD/Downforce and others:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
LSD: 10/20/20

Downforce: 63/88

Aids: None at all, toss TCS to 3 if you drive with a controller or have a right foot that is always up or down, as well as for when B-spec Bastard drives. TCS is not needed for use with R3 tires unless BSB is driving.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes: The car has a noticeable rear-high rake sitting still/coasting, but the tail squats (and the nose comes up a little) under acceleration, and the tail winds up lower than the nose. Downforce drops along with drag to help with straight line performance. (Pesky high-power reciprocals!)

For my driving style, the car seems to meld with you; it becomes one with you. A 787 with R5 tires might actually compete with the FGT for best cornering honors. And of course, it's a rotary, it's fast, and you can't make it look ugly in either available livery. (Black or the orange and green Renown livery.)

Notes: I like the way this car turned out. Completely neutral, never vicious, and the brakes will save you every time. I fly into the section at the end of Dottinger Hohe like I do with no other car, and slam the brakes at 130-140 where most cars would need to be going 80-90 to brake enough. Capable of sub-8 minute times @ the Ring. Be kind to the throttle in 1st, it likes to light the tires up a little bit.

Speed, control and handling. The key words to describe this car.
If you want something with the looks ànd the handling, this is what you'll need.

Edit: After a marvelous review from one of thé GT-R freaks on this forum, I removed the VCD.
If you want to know more about that review, don't be afraid to look here

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes: Somehow, this car manages to slow itself down in a straight line; Acceleration is poor for such a light car, especially one with over 400hp. Going to taller ratios does not help it, rather it gets slowed down. Despite the seeming utter LACK of power, cornering is awesome for an econobox with front and rear facias, a wing, and a hot powertrain with 250hp stock and AWD.

So, cornering is killer, but acceleration is not what it should be.

Bone, dry, dead stock. You'll never need more power with this car's cornering prowess.

Notes: Cornering is much more neutral than stock, and the car isn't upset by irregularities in the road. Makes the AI wonder what the hell happened. I have yet to try winning the DTCM in B-spec with this setup/car. If the engine note didn't put me to sleep, I'd be racing it right now.

Notes: I decided to build a "pure" sports car; I built a race car. Hard to get it bent out of shape, easy to drive it fast.

Tough to beat this power to weight and capability for this price.

Yes, apologies to the mods, but we planned to have 5 setups each, to post on opening day. Vince got 3, I got 7, and Rockit has 6. Unfortunately, it seems he couldn't get to a comp with internet.

Okay, Rockit's on, excuse double posts from him, as it was a timing thing.

nicely put together boy...well done...it will be a full time job but i think you can give MFT a run for there money

"Boy"? Who you callin' Boy?

Haha, just messing with you.

School+GT+DTR2+Transcendence+AI+the occasional human organ on toast=busy.

I saw Grey peeping in here somewhere... What do you think, Greycap, Leo? Can we catch your enormously successful business? By the way, I'll still be around to test. Just because I can. (Despite being constantly busy with life)

Thanks for the compliment Dimplz!

So any of you are up to the task of being a (temporary) test driver for us?

Let's see if you guys can tame the beasts.;)

And keep in mind you may ask for something in return, a custom tailored car(more HP/setup for your favorite track), a cool banner, a review of one of your cars!
