In an official press release ( http://www.us.playstation.com/News/PressReleases/459 ), they announced 5 new cars Peugeot 207GTI '07, Peugeot 307cc Premium AVN '04, RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7, Mazda RX-7 (FD) Special Tuned Car, Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) Tuned Car. But it seems that they have edited the press release in order to sweep these exclusives cars. What happened ? Someone got infos on this ? Was it a mistake ? Maybe it's a surprise from Polyphony and we can expect more than 5 new cars for the US release (just like they did for the F1 2007).

http://ps3mods.blogspot.com/2008/03/gt5-prologue-usa-car-list.html , here is an article that confirmed these cars. Their source was the same official press release i read in march.

yes it was already discussed here, that's life.

we're all sad inthere... :(

I don't get when you say they edited the press release in oder to sweep these exclusive cars?

The cars where on list long time ago, Since US had to wait many months, they wanted the US players to be first ones to test them out. But it is not sure when Japanese and Europe versions will get the extra cars. I'm guessing tomorrow everything will be settled.

these cars were in the press release and on the US GT5P website, I saw them with my eyes, now they have removed them. things are just as simple as that.

it means there will be no extra cars in the US version. everything will be settled tomorrow anyway.

If that is in fact the case. This will further confirm the theory that the online multiplayer is region locked. So people with different region version of the game will never be able to play with each other cause the list cars is not the same.

So I hear a small patch for the 17th. Maybe Later on be end of month we get the extra 5 cars? The one I am hoping for is the Tuned RX7

yes, that's why these cars will not be available. to let it a worldwide online mode.

you can pray for that pal. :D

Lets say Even if US had the cars, Japan and Europe did not, and lets say you can play around the world, then it could be possible to play online but only with cars that everyone has, since if you choose one of the 5 special cars then you would not be able to enter the events.

if the US version had the cars why removing them from the US site and editing their US press release all of a sudden ? it doesn't make sense.

as for online play, they have released the 2.0 patch for those with the Japanese version to avoid region locked online, and to make things simple.

oh ? just like previous GT, with lamborghini (JGTC version) in the GT3 japanese version and the esso ultraflo that wasn't included in the US version of GT4 ? But here I think that it's a little bit different because there is no restriction of peugeot and re-amemiya appearing on US version.

I am just saying WHAT IF.
I don't know why they took it out from the list. Maybe they are giving us too many cars? PD wan to tease us for the FULL GT5 game. Because I know they will improve the game, and ad heck of a ton of content.

Maybe this new content (if there is a new content) is a part of the surprises coming with the new PS Store.

Previous GT5P updates were not linked with the PS Store so far, since they were processed from the game itself, I doubt we'll have such surprise... :indiff:

I'm not entirely convinced a US version would feature Peugeots, given the fact they don't trade in North America and have no immediate plans to. I would say if the original press release stated they would be featured it was a mistake. Or they realised it was a bit pointless so have changed the car list since.

alright for Peugeot but what about the Mazda and RE Amemiya ? :)

extra cars were just an excuse for SCEA to hold the Americans from buying the imported English PAL edition from SCEE. my opinion.

with updates freely delivered to early versions owners, it doesn't work anymore anyway. there's still the supposed "US exclusive" tracks (update as well), and the GT-TV video "GT Apex" that is so large that it will not be downloadable but is included in the blu-ray edition.

Since Peugeot and RE Amemiya are credited in the Japanese Spec II in-game Manual, I think they missed time to complete the cars and dropped them.

I'm surprised no one got a pre-release or press copy of the US game while the PAL version was available few days earlier in Europe. Alright, enough with this, I'm gonna sleep and tomorrow we'll have new cars through a cute update! :D

I saw it too, but I thought maybe that brands were present in the game as ads in some tracks ; so I dropped the research and have forgotten about that.

Just glad the JPN version will get everything, cars and all.... it seems to never have cars missing like other regions, anything goes with licensing in Japan! :sly:

I think that all versions of prologue will have the same content. Kazunori talked about it in an interview.

Yes, but this time i feel like Sony wants to make a great surprise with the new PSStore (they announced lots of surprises). There will be Metal Gear Online beta free for europeans and might have some content for GT5Prologue. Grace Chen talked about it here : http://crackle.com/c/Video_Games/PlayStation_Store_video_walkthrough/2245773/#ml=fi=&fpl=289233&o=12 (she said features and add-ons for GT5P so there's still hope)
Maybe it's Sony's strategy to use MGO and GT5P to trail people to the new PSStore.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is Muadib Bateilgung GmbH? I can tell it's German because of the GmbH, but nothing shows up on Yahoo!

Just glad the JPN version will get everything, cars and all....

I have the JPN version Spec II, and it doesn't include Peugeots or RE Amemiya either. I was wondering where they went.

I haven't got the latest update released today yet, though.

they just vanished earlier this month... this is the biggest mystery of all time, we'll never know dude, this is like Kennedy's assassination. :odd:

there is nothing like extra cars in today's update. I've checked the Garage and Peugeot and RE Amemiya are still credited in the updated in-game manual.

It will probably be an update when the US version is released.

it was supposed to be today! blu-ray release I mean. PS Store will come out on Thursday 17.

I really wish we have a new update bringing presents on April 17, but...

by the way they have done great work so far with the current updates.
