Description:

Inspired by the anime series 'Wangan Midnight', I set up this little Red Devil Z. This car is closest to the Devil Z(Nissan Fairlady Z (S30)) in the series, only it has a stubby nose. I know it hasn't got the tuned L28 engine, bored and stroked to 3.1 liters combined with twin turbos, which produces 620 bhp. Still 290 bhp isn't that bad ether. This combined with it's relatively low weight can beat quite a lot of cars, especially driven by the GT4 AI.

'Zeto' is this red devil called. It's fast, it's balanced and it's ready for a ride.

Do you want the keys? Or do you prefer to live slow, instead of die fast?

Teaser:

Click for bigger pic!

ps. If you'd like it to go even faster, here's the Transmission settings Rotary Junkie made:

Reset to default. Autoset to 13, then set ratios and final.
Ratios of: [2.950/2.017/1.526/1.219/1.000/0.800]
Final of 2.730

And these transmission settings aren't for this tuner challenge, just for the ones who'd love this car.

For this tune I've decided to do away with the messy LSD's that I don't quite understand yet. And just try and dial out as many problem as I can through the suspension. I'm quite happy with the results.

And with that, Onto the tune.

For some of you may know, this is same Mazda RX-8 found in my garage Touge Tuners Ltd. , but this time it now features slight balance adjustments which now makes the car run very well at both circuit and touge, whereas the first setup is meant purely for touge racing. Aside from the adjustments, a fully customizable transmission is fitted for better and more precise power delivery from the engine to the drive wheels. A race-spec ECU is also fitted to get the best out of the engine and the supercharger, so power and torque go up a considerable notch. Handling is not a problem, the suspension and differential are set up for any kind of corner. Same goes for speed, this car has plenty of it. Have fun, ladies and gents.., 👍

This N-Tune Performance Vehicle started life simply as a customer built car designed to beat the RX-8 Cup and it did it's job. We build up another one and sold it off to a hopefully happy customer. However when all was said and done, we where happy with the suspension but not with the overall package. Turbo's, Transmissions and Brake Balance controller's where thrown into the mix creating a proper sports car, rather than a caught in-between GT and sports coupe.

I've changed the Transmission on this quite a bit after a bit of advice on the LSD for 4WD cars, which has changed a lot.
It now handles better into corners and is happy to sit right on the 7000rpm red line at 322kph if the straight is long enough, remember I developed this for the back staight of Cirque de la Sathe II, which it will not lose any speed down at full throtle in top gear.
The brakes are a bit more tighter now as well, though I did not change them.

I've changed this too a Stage 2 turbine, all the wheel spin is pretty much gone except 1st is still touchy. Find the sweet spot for take off and it's good.
I mainly changed the LSD and a slight tweek too the gear ratios on 4th an 5th, with bringing the final up a bit to account for the lower KW's.
I'm happy now with this tuner for the KW's it is....

The Subaru Impreza has been one of the most successful rally cars of all time. Since it joined WRC over one-and-a-half decades ago, it has clinched countless victories and made famous great drivers, including the legendary Colin McRae. But now, it's time to take this machine off the dirt and into where it truly belongs: pavement. This GD version of the Impreza has been made into a fine racing machine by TTL mechanics. Mid-corner attacks are now a breeze and without a hint of understeer, thanks to the upgraded differential and its ability to manage the power very well. Balance is the key on this setup, keeping in mind that we are to make this car well-rounded.

The Chevrolet Corvette is one of the best bang for the buck performance car bargains out there today. The Z06 model was the hottest version of the C5 available from Chevrolet. This particular one has been enhanced with suspension, brakes and LSD tuning. The LS6 V8 has also recieved some attention and now pumps out 100 extra horsepower.

This is my ex drift car. If you drive at half throttle in most of the gears it works fine as a grip car. Should be capable of running around the 'Ring in about 7:50 or something given a good driver.

I'm going to put in two factory spec for FWD and RWD. They aren't all out but will rate highly on the fun to drive factor. So enjoy some factory samples to come out of the GME garage to play with your all out TCv cars. ;)

Since GT4 never released the Megane Sport, I built my own to the exact power specs of the factory car and getting near on identical sprint times to the factory model. At Tsukuba, for a "factory" car with no weight reduction, this will still pull a 1.06 flat and is a fine balance of factory and tuning by yours truly.

This is the TRD Hilux that's been beefed up to compete with the VE R8 ute's that now have 317Kw. The supercharger has been swapped to a new unit for more boost now giving it 765Nm of torque, enough to put the TDi V10 Touraeg to shame and the 312Kw (425hp) is enough to make it turn 12s down the strip. Around Tsukuba however, this car isn't a slouch. It will complete a lap in under 1 minute, hitting 59.4's on S3 rubber. ;)

Sorry RJ, was doing it in a rush since I came home early and realised I had time to do it. It's an '03 model, not the IDE coupe. ;)

For the judges:

Starting now, build the vehicles of a given class to spec, and give them equal test time. Record notes of how each vehicle acts, what you like, what you don't like, etc...

Criteria:

Comfort: 0-25, 25 being best. By comfort I don't mean ride quality, I mean the car is easy to drive fast, and doesn't make you work hard to keep it in check at the limit.

Cornering attitude: 0-25. Does it understeer excessively? Dock points. Oversteer excessively? Dock points. Does it do both? Kill it.

Cornering prowess: 0-25. Basically, how fast it can go through the twisty bits.

Power-to-capability: 0-15. Is it too much for the chassis tuning? Can it take more? Or is it right around where you, the judge, feel it should be?

Perceived possible improvement: 0-10. How much quicker do you feel the car can be made? Lower = more improvement possible, higher = the tune is closer to "right". Base it not only off cornering but the gearbox's tuning as well (can the car be kept more or less in the power band at all times? Is acceleration well balanced with where the car tops out? etc)

Now then... Total it up, and there's the score. But list the individual scores as well.

TRACK SELECTION... The track you use should be somewhere you're familiar with that provides a somewhat unbiased gauge of a vehicle's performance (IE not somewhere that's all high speed corners, and not somewhere that's all low speed).

GVS, El Capitain and Suzuka Circuit are good examples I think.
