apparently they're too damn stupid to put the additional accessories in the damn box. i need a stupid charger for my iPod Touch, and i open the box and all i see os the manual, the dust cloth, and the headphones and USB plug, but no charger. I payed $223.45 for a new iPod and i don't get a charger. wtf am i supposed to do? use it for one day and throw it away? i'm not wasting another $10.00 on a charger for this thing when i have 3 that this expensive shingle wont freaking recognize as a charger. i really hope that Apple can think properly next time and just cram the F-ing box with good stuff. hell, my next iPod, and everybody else's next iPod should come with keys to a brand new Gallardo LP560-4. if not, i'm going to Cupertino, California myself to kick their nerdy asses.
 
You DO know that iPods charge via the USB cord right?

1. Plug USB cable into iPod
2. Plug into computer
3. Let charge.
4. ????
5. PROFIT!!!!11

I DO wish they included a wall charger though... it's not like I'm supposed to leave my computer on all month...
 
You can go to your local apple store and pick up a wall charger for $20 or so. Otherwise you'll have to stick to your friendly neighborhood USB port or iPod dock.

Nobody packages iPods. It's all done by machines...machines that the "nerds" in Cupertino have nothing to do with, and machines that have a failure rate of less than 0.0001% (assuming Apple chose a packaging contractor who is better than the industry average).

You can buy wall chargers online for basically free. Some places will even pay you to stop whining and take one off their hands if you do so in an especially annoying manner.

I have a problem with Apple and their lousy packaging too. Those guys didn't pack the tower to go with my iMac monitor. :(

I've got an instructor who was working with Apple on a patented shipping container that you bought your Powerbook in sometime in the late 90s. It was quite interested, there were the shock-absorbing corners that caught the load distribution in mishaps during shipping or when you dropped it just before getting to the kitchen table to open it up the first time. The magical part part was that it came with a SSAE that you just chucked back into the mail and it was recycled. It would've saved Apple quite a bit in packaging, and also done a good deal of sustainable design in terms of paper consumption and waste. Apparently the deal went sour over pretty much one bad conversation between two execs between Apple and the design firm.
 
This is priceless.

I got a Nano at Christmas and immediately plugged it in via USB to my PS3, which is rarely turned off.

I will say I was a bit miffed to find that none of my old power block chargers would work with it. They even advertised standard iPod plug as a bullet point, but what good is it if it only means it will work on my Bose iPod sound system? And I didn't bother to see if it was actually charging.


All that said, the manual, with diagrams, showed to plug it into a USB port to charge it. Usually, in the time it takes me to add new podcasts or audiobooks (counting download time) it can be charged. If not, then I just hook it up to my PS3 before going to bed.

And while I am not sure where you bought it, most places do say what is included in the box.


Thinking back on it: Did your iPod come pre-charged? My Nano only had enough power to tell me it had a low battery. Can anyone confirm if the Touch comes with a charged battery? Based on my experience this sounds fishy.

Interesting that you blame them for your stupidity, rant and rail against them, describe the product as "expensive shingle" yet are still anticipating buying the next one from the same people...
 
Now that we've all had our laugh; I found a link that might help - the online support manual page for charging your iPod. Of course actually looking in your printed manual would have been quicker.

Don't people know Apple are cheapskates... as the years have gone on they have gradually screwed customers out of every little extra and now even the box is just some tacky odd sized CD case... wheres the massive pointless origami boxes they used to give you!

Seriously the 3G for example came with everything... dock, in line remote, carry case, AC charger, tons of cables, thick manual, over the top box....etc etc.

Then with the 4G (I bought) they removed the in line remote, dock and carry case...

Now they give you literally nothing but the damn iPod! :lol: I don't even think they include a paper manual (not that you need one) but the whole point with Apple is that you should feel like you are buying something like art... something all about design.

Simplex I think you might have anger issues.

ya i got pissed too whe i realised that my itouch didnt come with one of these...

but the thing broke after 4days of use , so i gave it back , no biggy
