I am posting this for any NTSC Sharkport, X-Port, and Max Drive users that may be interested. It is my "Race Garage" that I use for OLR and Racing-Line/GT3 Times record attempts, etc. It contains 195 cars, each with every possible part available so that no parts have to be purchased for tuning. It also has all the rare cars that can only be unlocked with a Gameshark such as the Diablo, Lacia Stratos and Stratos Rally Car, the GT-R R34 M-Spec, rare Miatas, the Porsche GT3 and so on. Basically, It is every posible car available in the NTSC version of the game (aside fom the Sample cars), all in one place and neatly organized for your driving pleasure. It also has all of the Arcade mode tracks unlocked and all licences available for race entry. Handy if you accidentally erase your game save:O What I do is keep my "Race Garage" on my second memory card and then simply purchase any car I want to drive using the "Trade" function in my home garage. That way, I always have a fresh car to drive, and if it gets worn out, I simply buy another one as needed. So if you think this may come in handy or would simply like to check it out, feel free. You may notice that some cars have 0 miles and some have 200 miles. The ones with 200 miles mean that the car is fully broken in and at max HP. The ones with 0 miles may or may not need to be broken in, depending on whether they were obtianed as a prize car or purchased. I will keep the file updated as I get more cars fully broken in.

P.S. - If any of you PAL users have something similar or would like to make one up, this would be a good place to post it up:p

See you all on the track:cool:

These are .zip files so you will have to unzip them before uploading to your memory card. Last updated 1-21-05. Max Drive or X-Port/Sharkport formats are now available.

CFM, are you sure you uploaded the right file? All of my garages with that many cars are around 175K to 195K and this one is 57K. Also, my sharkport doesn't recognize it as a game save and won't upload it.:(

GT3mich: For some reason it does not download as it normally should. It is a zip file. You need to rename it to XXXX.zip and then unzip it. The zipped file is a .sps file that is 202k.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I had to change it to a .zip file, because the file was too large to post on GTP without compressing it. So anyone else who downloads it, unzip it before trying to put it on your memory card. :D

I was actually thinking of doing something like this a while back when I organized my garage.

Just like you, I have all prize cars and all race cars. (purchasable or not)

Then I took them and organized them in a specific order.

Basically it goes like this.

Normal cars
Tuner cars
"little race cars" (gt300 and others)
jgtc cars
touring cars (astra, clk d2, etc.)
big muscle racers (gt40, esperante, etc.)
super race cars (starting with zonda and working to gt-ones)
Rally cars
Formulas
hybrids (only 3... a gt3 porsche, a vertigo the oreca viper engine and a bmw)

It didn't take long but it was well worth it.

Glad to see you did what I didn't and put up a great looking garage.

Thanks (on the behalf of all those that may benefit from it.)

If I ever get a dang Shark port, I will make use of this.
Thanks!!!

Are you having trouble finding one or you just haven't gotten around to it yet? For some reason I thought you had one already:confused: If the case is that you can't find one, I'm sure someone around the GTP shuld know where to get one in the US. If not, there's always Ebay I guess...:D

Hell, I'm not smart enough to find cars like that! I just put mine in alphabetical order by manufacturer

A little bit of both, I guess.
Since UB57 and DerAlta have sent me saves, or made cars for me with sending cards back and forth, I've starting to REALLY want one badly.
I can pick up a 'Shark at Wal-Mart.

The other thing I'm really interested in doing is downloading some replays to chase. I'll never be as fast as MrP, but I'd love to chase his ghost arouund and pick up some pointers.

Since people have been D/L this occasionally I've updated it again, more cars are fully broken in. SOMEDAY I may have them all done, but I doubt it. GT4 will probably come out first and I'll have to start all over:D

If you've recently aquired a sharkport, you should check it out!

Hey CFM.....there is an easier way to breaking those cars in.

Just get a hold of MK's Garage Editor.

With that, you can import your garage to your PC and load it into the Garage Editor.

From there, you can select a car and export it to a directory as an ini File and then open it with Notepad and change the values listed on lines 480 and 484 (depending on what value is listed in those lines) to -1.

Then, save that file and import it back into the Garage Editor......overwriting the original car in the slot that your are putting it back in.

Then, you can save your garage, send it back to your Memory Card and Viola! a car that has full horsepower WITHOUT having to put miles on it at the get go.......of course, you would still need to do the first oil change to really reap the benefits of the full break in without the car turning over the Odometer. :D

I tried doing that before by altering the odometer, but it wasn't working out for me for some reason, and if I'm not mistaken, I also tried the way that you mentioned, but I may have not done it quite right...I'll give it a try again when I have time and see if I can figure it out. If not, I don't really go out of my way to drive all the cars but when I am doing the weekly races or other OLR I just update the file as I go. Thanks reddog:)

What are hybrids????

Hybrids are created by hacking the car data file of a car in your garage on your memory card via a program to change the engine, the chassis, the weight, the power, the grip, the downforce, everything about the car. Check out the Hybrids forum.

We had been discussing a few time ago about the possibilities to convert Shark port files (.sps) to X-port files (.xps) and the other way around, and the conclusion was that there was no possibility to do that.
I found (don't remember where) a program called Save Converter that says it can actually perform this conversion.
I've just downloaded your garage and converted it to .xps format.
The new file seems OK when I open it with MK's program, I'll check tonight if I can load it on my mem card, and if that works...
For those who wouldn't wait that much, here is the tentative .xps converted file (zipped).

Edit :
I successfully loaded the converted save on my memory card, and I could play with it. The only confusing thing was that speeds were displayed in mph instead of km/h. I'll try and download a replay from the WRS archive to check if it goes OK.
BTW, I can't link the save converter, the file is too large to fit (129 Kb zipped). I'll try and find where I got it from, or I'll upload it somewhere else.

Edit 2 :
Garage conversion works fine, replay conversion gives nothing interesting. The car and track are correct, but it looks like the driver was drunk.

Flat-out, are you saying that the file you posted is my garage converted to PAL format and any PAL user can download it and it works normally? If so, that is very cool! Any other PAL users wanna try it out the next time you hook up your X-port? If you try it out let me know how it works, then I can add it to my sig.👍

It is indeed, your garage that I converted to XPS format, zipped and posted. It works perfectly. The only differences with my own garage are :
1) it's in english (but it shouldn't be a problem to anyone on GTP)
2) speeds appear in MPH and not in KM/H
3) 4 of the 6 F1 cars appear with the body of the Suzuki Alto since they don't exist in the PAL version.
Not enough to prevent anybody from using it, so indeed : 👍 👍 👍
Plus, I found were I got the converter utility from : on www.granturismo.de , section 'downloads' it's the penultimate utility. The only thing is, they say you can watch NTSC replays on PAL console with this, but it's bull****. You can see the correct car and track but the car keeps on hitting walls as if the driver was dead drunk.

Thanks Flat-Out. There will most likely be differences in some of the other cars that i think do not exist on the PAL disc, such as the Lancias, Porsche and Diablo, maybe a few others. The reason replays don't work is due the different refresh rates of PAL and NTSC, which would makes events such as braking, accelerating and turning occur at different moments in the program I think.

I read this explanation on some other thread, and it's a pity, I'd like to see NTSC replays. But it's already nice that we can exchange garages and cars.
It makes your ultimate garage worth double 👍 👍
