I need some help looking for a TV to buy for a SIM race cabinet I will be building.

This TV will be used for 100% race games only. Mostly GT4.

I will be sitting about 3 feet from screen.

It needs to be a widescreen TV.

It needs to be CRT.

What I wanted to get was a 30" WS HDTV, but... I heard this will cause problems with games. I read somewhere on here that all HDTVs have line doublers that will cause problems with games.

Any advice?

Not sure about the line doublers.. I know projection TVs have problems with games, because of the greater chance of burn-in (things like speedometers, things that don't move even when the game is playing). And a great many HDTVs are projection-based. I hate projection TV's myself, I'll be getting a picture-tube type myself (much cheaper than plasma, and smaller, so I can fit it in my wee apartment).

Nice deinterlacer Solid Lifters, but out of my budget.

Is it even worth it to go with a HDTV WS TV. This is going to be in a SIM cabinet used for GT4 only. No DVD no HDTV channels.

What about this 26 Philips WS. I don't think it's HDTV but do I need it.

Or this 30 JVC WS also not HDTV.

I could have sworn I read that line doublers cause problems with games that's why I was looking at these non HDTV WS TVs.

Those would work great, but you're missing a proper deinterlacer. But, the Philips TV doesn't have one, so it should be no problem to add one later. But, you should know a deinterlacer is needed for great images. I have the option to turn mine off, and it looks worse without it. Not by much, but there is a noticable difference.

You should know the PS3 will be a HD console. So, maybe going for an afforable HDTV-Ready set could be a better idea, but that's up to you. GT4 will be the last GT game for the PS2, except for the online version of GT4, which may or may not come out.
