View All User's Posts In A Thread

I was just looking for a particular post by a user in a fairly large thread there and had to go through several pages of posts searching through each page looking for the username and then looking through each of their posts to see if it contained the information I was looking for. It took a considerable amount of time, so I was wondering if it's possible to simply (within a couple of clicks) display all posts by a certain user in a certain thread?

I don't know if it's possible to display all posts by a particular user in a particular thread at the moment at all...

As most of you will know, if you look at the list of threads in a particular sub-forum and click on the number of replies for a particular thread you'll be shown a list of the people who have posted in this thread and how many posts they've made in this thread. If you click on a user's name in this display you'll be taken to their profile. What I was thinking was that either when you click on their name you get taken to a list of their posts in this thread or there is a link provided in the pop-up to do so.

I suppose this is a suggestion more in relation to the forum software than this forum itself, but I don't know if anyone else would find this a handy addition?
 
In my opinion, that sounds like a reasonable idea, actually quite a good idea 👍 Taking into account threads such as the Three Hundred Mile Per Hour with over 2700, this would make it a lot easier to find information.
Hopefully it can be done...

Agreed. A few times I've become stuck on finding a specific post from a user in a thread. It would be a good addition. 👍

This is would be a handy feature, one I've wished we could have for a while now. It would make searching for an individual information in a thread quite helpful.
 
Glad to see I'm not the only one who'd like to have this addition. Don't know if it's feasible though, we'll have to wait for Jordan's input.
 
Yeah, I was trying to find Talentless' only post in my funny pic thread, but I couldn't find it. I would think that it would be hard to integrate, since a new page would probably have to be made.

You could possibly make an addition in the 'search the thread' tool using Vb, as that functionality already exists in the gneral search, albeit w/out username persistence between searches.

This would certainly make a wonderful feature, and one that I have wanted for quite some time now. Unfortunately, it is not part of vBulletin, nor are there any plugins (that I'm aware of) which include such an option. Perhaps in a future release of the software?
