Jack White should be lower. And Kurt Cobain. But maybe this list was based on favourites not skill.

Lower? Jack White SUCKS, he shouldn't be on the list at all.

Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

They probably wanted to put Jack White first (R.S. probably just get paid to give some current acts some added promotion), but knew it was a bit of a stretch to bump Hendrix. They might've realised that because Hendrix is so far better than anyone, that no matter how you graded the list (ability, songwriting, showmanship, popularity, influence, musicianship, innovation etc etc), he'd still win.

If they put Kurt Cobain on there (wrote a couple of good songs), Bob Dylan (wrote more than a couple of good songs...) should be on there too... its a totally strange list, it doesn't know what it is or how anyone is supposed to be ranked. Its just an editorial wank basically. Its just some young jerk's opinion at Rolling Stone magazine, with random donations from record companies influencing the choices....

I love how when Rolling Stone initially wanted to put Frank Zappa on the cover, they rang him up and he said "You want ME to prostitute myself to help sell YOUR magazine?! No way, you can't use my picture, **** off."
Most musos would kill to get on the cover of RS, Zappa sure had some integrity!

Edit: ^^^ Apologies for the thread from the dead, I believe it was my fault.

I can't get over this Jack White thing. In my opinion, he shouldn't even make music.

This is why I don't read voters top 100 whatever lists, they always enrage me with the fact that all the morons in the world voted.

This article and this magazine is an insult to the music industry and everything around it. Not only insulting, but this is total bull****. No matter what they can say in their defence, this is not acceptable. Most of the guitarists in the list should not have been there, and some should have been to the list. Its a shame for them and for everybody to know that these people are writing bull****.

These people dont know anything about music, go the hell !!!!

The only question that need's to be asked here is: Where is Steve Howe?
No, the only question that needs to be asked here is why anybody considers Rolling Stone to be relevant to anything anymore.

Yea the kid's got crazy talent for sure. But he needs to learn how to play. There is absolutely no soul there. I dobut that it's possible to teach a kid that you to really lay down though. So he's probably doing as well as he possibly can at this point.

Yea, that's just a bunch of basic blues sclaes, simple taps, and heavy metal rip off "riffs" lol Let's see his finger's stretch like that accross a classical, and play that fast in some flamenco!
