While playing GT4 I always felt that some tracks have to be raced mor often than others. Of course, on tracks with endurance races it is obvious. But in the other events I thought it is not balanced.
In GT3 I often raced in Midfield, Trial Mountain, Special Stage 5. Sometimes I loved it, sometimes I hated it because it was too often. Or what about Test Course: whenever I was having fun the next race to do was on that track which was not fun.
So I counted the number of laps you have to do on all tracks to complete the game. I did not include Rally Courses and it was not possible to count laps of 4h, 8h, 9h and 24h races in endurance mode.
SO here it is then:

I find it especially interesting how some tracks and their reverse version are equally balanced and some are not. Like e.g. Opera Paris and Tokyo R246 (although 99 laps come from the 1000 miles event).
I did smething similar, but I ranked them by miles and included the timed enduros. The way you can do this is to base each one by the most laps completed by the best performing AI car of the entire list of possible AI cars for each of those races.
Here is the list I made:

EDITED THE POST ABOVE: Added a list on how the tracks rank by number of races.
Looking over these figures there are some interesting observations.
Of the 522 races, or 459 if you don't count the special condition races, all but 35 are less than 40 miles long. The total number of miles for those 424 races is only 3,594 miles. Thus, the average of those races is only 8 miles in length.
The longest race in that group is the 6th leg of the Professional Gran Turismo World Championship series held on the New York City course, and is 39 miles long.
The shortest race is a tie between the first race of the Beginner Sunday Cup series and the third race of the Citroen 2HP - 2CV Classics series, which are both held on the Autumn Ring Mini course, and are only 1.6 miles long.
The remaining 35 races total a whopping 17,958 miles. Thus, the average length of those races is 513 miles!
The longest of those races is the Circuit de la Sarthe 24hr II (Group C classic Le Mans), which the best AI car, Sauber Mercedes C 9, will complete 433 laps, or 3,655 miles.
The shortest race is the Super Speedway 150 Miles, which is held at the Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway.
Considering how much those 35 races effect the mileage ranking, I thought it might be interesting to see how these tracks might rank differently if I did not include the 150+ mile races:
