I did a search, didn't find a solution.

I am trying to get prepared for GT5:P release. I've been trying to add funds to my Japanese wallet. Problem is, my billing address is from the US. Not only that, but I have no clue what I'm trying to read; it's just hieroglyphics to me. Can someone kindly shed some light on my problem?

Thanks!

Unless you have a Japanese credit card with a real address in Japan you cannot add funds to a Japanese account.

I'm afraid thats the long and short of it!

Got any close friends in Japan?, thats the only way if you want the download version, either wise just import the boxed version like I'm going to do.

There are ways of doing this. Besides the obvious one that has been mentioned, it is certainly possible to set-up a credit card account in Japan, and apparently some international accounts will work as well.

There are also services like Wirecard where you can set-up an account and use it to buy things "locally" from other regions. In fact, this is how many UK PS3 owners have been buying games off the US PS Store.

Just out of curiosity though, what content did you want to buy off the Japanese store?

Very cool, I'll look into this. I just want to be prepared for the GT5:Prologue release. I dont want to buy the Japanese version from a retailer, wait and pay for shipping.
Thanks!

On Friday or Sat I get paid, which is when I will download the japanese version. I'm not worried about my card not working, because when I went to Japan earlier this year, the card worked fine.

As far as the dialogue in the game goes, I purchased Wangan Express Midnight for my PS3 overseas, and while the story in the game is in Japanese, the Menus are all in English, which is enough to get through the game. BTW, for those that have this game, I have a guide list for all the cards you use in the game. A little OT, I apologize.

For those who download it on Thu when it comes out, please post your comments about paying for the game, downloading it, and playing it, because I am curious as to how this is going to turn out.

It's not coming out on Friday. The downloadable version is coming out on the 25th, Christmas Day.

My understanding is that both versions are supposed to be out Thursday, and there is extra content available on Dec 25. I however may have misread this.....:nervous:
