Taken from another forum I'm on, it seemed like a great topic and I can't find a similar one on this forum so I'll fire away.

What concept cars would you like to see produced in all their glory? Can be anything from the insane Japanese concepts right down to almost production-ready.

For me, there are literally hundreds, but a few that come to mind (seeing as I already have images of them handy) are shown below:

Renault Nepta (so sleek, some of Renault's recent concepts have been gorgeous...):

Renault Fluence (see what I mean?...):

Lancia Fulvia concept (always liked Fulvias):

BMW 1-series tii (the E30 M3 for today):

Honda CR-Z (the new CRX):

Suzuki X-Head (would be so fun off road... and that isn't an innuendo about doing the show girl...):

Suzuki Dune (a tarted up Vitara, but again, would be ace offroad):

Some of these cars I'd wished were made in their day, others I wish for modern interpretations in production, and others should just be in production.

That Holden EFIJY is gorgeous. I also agree with the Saab, though I prefer the 2001 9-X concept:

And also the 9-3X:

Can we get a photo limit (let's say...3) per post?

Save some for everyone, and think of the 56k members.

Sorry, had to cover some of my fave GM concepts.:D

Which reminds me, there was one other Holden race car concept that never got to race. Nah, couldn't find a pic. It was a Le Mans 24hr Holden Torana, with full aero and race work and a twin turbo V8 pushing over 500kw. They were expecting a class victory but funds ended up falling short as it was a private entry with Holden's approval. Shame really, could have been a real piece of automotive history. The engine was all aimed at endurance too, so no break downs mid-race.

Chrysler ME Four-Twelve.

With a 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, and a top of 248mph (400km/h), this would've been a great production car. All those other ones are great too!

YES! And to challenge it

Cadillac CIEN

I've always liked the looks of the Copperhead, forgotten it existed actually!

Ford have had some nice ones, the recent "Airstream" and 2001 "021C" are both pretty nice:

I'll leave it there and let others go for it now... apologies. Maybe put a 56k warning on the thread?

CONDITIONAL

Dodge Demon

as an FR, not a Chinese Diahatsu Copen Knockoff.

Alfa Romeo Brera

To be honest, lack of a Maser V8 made the production version a bit of a disappointment.

UNCONDITIONAL

AMC AMX/3

Had THAT gone into production, there may still have been an automaker in Wisconsin.

I've got three:

Good news for you, in order to bridge the gap between the M cars and the highest 335i family, BMW will introduce a Tii 1 series and 3 Series into production!' Yay for Baveria!

Yes! Yes! Yes! I saw the Muira at the Lamborghini museum last year.

Here are mine.

Lamborghini Espada (genius idea)

Bronco

The Espada doesn't really stand a chance of coming back. For 1, it was never actually put into a concept, let alone a drawing by Lamborghini. 2nd, their C.E.O . pretty much confirmed Lamborghini has no plans of bringing any cars back as the company is all about moving forward.

I'll second both Cadillacs mentioned. And the ME Four Twelve with a sprinkling of the VW Nardo.

I think the Fulvia is going to be made.

And the Brera made it, albeit not quite as pretty as the concept.

I'd like them to have made the Mustang like the original concepts, coz the real thing was total pants in comparison.

They're making a 3-series Tii as well? That would be pretty cool. My favourite current 3-series isn't the M3, but the 318si - the tuned 318 based on the Touring car.

And good choice on the LRX 👍

Stripes on the wrong side = FAIL.

And, since it's BMW, who should know better:

EPIC FAIL.

Meh, stripes on the wrong side, big deal. It's the nicest BMW since the E30 3-series.

I think the Fulvia is going to be made.

I'd love it if that were true, but that concept is a good few years old now and no further word on it. It was based on the Fiat Barchetta.

If that's what the new Galant will look like I'm liking it. I like the old Galant and I like the Lancer styling... thumbs up for this design.

Another concept I'd like to see, the Honda Sprocket from 2000:

honda-spocket560_04.jpg

It was another "potential CRX replacement" much like the recent CR-Z concept I posted. A bit more unusual though, this one was actually kind of an "ute" as you can see from this photo. Best looking ute by miles!

Moving Forward huh?

Well looking at cars like the DB9, 599, SLR, M6, Continental GTC, GTR, and other front engined cars that are their direct rivals. I see that it would only to be a good idea to make a car. I guess you don't need to call it an Espada, but a front engined GT car Lamborghini makes sense. Ferruccio always said his company is more about road cars than race cars and if that is true. A GT car is an imprtant part of the line up.

That's why the Gallardo is around, to compete with those cars. Lamborghini hasn't made a front-engined car since 1978, excluding the LM002. As for Ferruccio, he could say what he wanted, but the Lamborghini he ran is far different from the Lamborghini Winkelmann runs today.

Lamborghini also doesn't need a GT car. Too many enthusiasts already feel the over-production of the Gallardo hurts the image.

I like that Mitsu too, far better than the Galant/380, and I think it has AWD capability too. But it's only a 4cyl I think.:indiff:

That Honda doesn't come close to a Holden or Ford Ute in my books.;)

1991-Mercedes-Benz-C112.jpg

Mercedes C112. Everything was there to produce it, but the German company opted for their own reasons, not that I blame them.

hologram149.jpg

The 1980 Corvette concept that experimented with a mid-engine configuration. However, chances are that if it went into production (which it came so very close to), we would see something as ungainly as this:

c7merq9.jpg

So, things would have taken a very different turn with the Corvette, but a neo-classic car would be nice, or a redesign and a different name.
