Profile probs

My user title thingie is set to not display, but it still shows up on the profile page (actually, this might be a carry over problem from before, but I can’t remember). Also, as you can see, there’s a bit of a spacing problem at the bottom. ;)

I’m running Lite if that makes a difference.

[edit]: Hm, lightbox effect doesn’t seem to be working, for both Lite and Default.

Ah, yes, I forgot it was displayed there. I believe that was an issue from before. Because the "display user title" option is a custom addition, the conditional statement which controls its display can not be found in the template by default. The same goes for the text spacing - the default templates were created with the online status represented as an image, not text. I'll put this on the list of things to clean up tomorrow.

Oh, and the lightbox effect is working for me with that attachment you posted there. :confused: Perhaps it's a Safari issue?
 
Ah, it’s because I have images turned off in my options (I’m on dial-suck right now) – I was expecting that when I clicked on the attachment link, it would pop up in the lightbox effect instead of a new window. If I turn images back on, it works as expected.
 
Are we troubleshooting issues here?

I can check My GTP perfectly, but if I want to check subscribed threads with no new posts, clicking "View all subscribed threads", I get a "The GTP Forums are unavailable." message...
 
Wasnt the profile image size limit 500x500 before because I have reuploaded and its shrunk?
 
I'm not sure if this is a profile problem, or an album problem, but I am getting advertisements in the left-side column when viewing individual photos.
 
In 'My GTPlanet' it says I have 2 pending friend requests, but I already accepted them..

All and all, I like all these features! :)

I've received 2 requests to add a friend but I fail to see the benefits of this feature. Would appreciate it if someone could give me some ideas of why they appreciate this feature. Please know I am not dissing this option, I merely fail to see its potential....

Perhaps the answer could be added to the post Jordan made in the News section.

Hope this isnt treated as a hijack thread post

Little, to none I'd say. It's just kinda superficial, something extra for us to do. Maybe make you feel even more apart of a group now that when you add a friend they get a notice. As well as building a better friendship with people without having to do it outside of GTP.

I fail to see it too, but it's probably part of the GTP/Facebook merger. :p

Hmmm, working fine here. It could just be a cached page, either on your computer or a proxy server. Does refreshing the page help?

Do the friend requests remain even after you have refreshed the My GTPlanet page?

The friends/contacts functionality allows you to define users you trust, giving you more control over your account. For example, you will notice new options which let you restrict who can send you private messages or leave notes on your profile. When creating new photo albums, you will also have the ability to make an album viewable only to your friends or the public.
 
One more thing: the collapsable flippy triangle circle things need a bit of PNG magic.

The first issue is that it’s not obvious at all that the active tab actually corresponds to Major Block Header, since the active tab is normally gray while the Major Block Header is normally dark red.

Second is that the inactive tabs are the only Minor Block Header elements that are picking up the background image; everything else only picks up the background color.
 
I think I've stumbled on another (small) bug.
In the Contacts and Friends section there is the option to UNTICK the box called Show Avatars.
This indeed removes the avatars from the screen but the Save button doesnt actually seem to 'remember' this when you press it.
The avatars return upon return to this option.

I see what you mean. While the icon is an easy fix, I'm not sure if the other issues are going to be so straightforward.

I looked this up, and it appears to be that way by design (albeit not a very reasonable or logical one). I guess it's just supposed to make your contacts list easier to look over.
 
After viewing Muffazar Musa's profile and burning my retinas, would it be possible to block only single profile-customizations? Integrated with Hide Users or something?

No, unfortunately it's an all-or-nothing setting.
 
This isn't an error or problem as such, but I feel it's necessary for the "ironing out bugs phase". I can't properly delete any profile visitor messages. I can understand a reason for them needing be there for a little while (moderating issues), but I don't want to have 100 little messages by the end of the year saying "Message deleted by nd 4 holden spd" cluttering my profile. Any feedback on this would be great.:)
 
Those deleted message placeholders are only visible to you and moderators.
 
Hmm, my avatar is an animated GIF but you can only see the first frame on my profile. However, Casio's is an animated GIF as well but it's actually going. Any ideas?

Well I notice the same thing happened to Wallrunner51 as well. Maybe the only reason Casio's GIF is animated in his profile is because his GIF has only 2 frames while yours and Wallrunner51 had more than that. Either way, I don't have a clue why does that happened........

It's not immediately clear to me why this is happening, but notice that avatars on profiles are re-sized by the forum software, and some of this processing could be dropping the other frames. Maybe you should try re-uploading your avatar to see if that helps. (While we're on the subject, I've always really liked your avatar, ceiling_fan. :))
 
GTP_WaynePFC, if you are looking for your post, I have moved it into the Site Feedback forum as its own thread, not as a reply to this one.
 
Is there any way to center the background image? Mine doesn't exactly take up all the space, and it doesn't fit that great beside itself.
