Should I select "Pre-Install Main Game Data"?

Before you answer, I have installed the game already, when it prompted me to the first time I turned it on. However this option is not already selected in the menu.

I was wondering if selecting it would install even more of the game, but I'm worried it'll start the same install over again. Anyone know?
 
I wondered about that too, it doesnt say whether it's already been done or not. I decided not to do it deciding it's the exact same thing as the process you choose before installing the game, i think it will just rewrite over everything it's already done. But i don't want to waste 1hr doing that process.
I'm lvl 12 now and file size has remained at 6gb.
 
If you havn't Installed it Fully yet , but your Playing the Game Ok .

Don't Worry as you Progress it'll Install As you Play and you'll Notice the Loading Times will get Quicker and Quicker till it settles down at 6gb an a bit
 
I was never given an option to install anything.. it just asked about the screen size then it did a few seconds of creating files, then straight to the game. Is this normal? Why were people talking about a 50 minute wait?

Have you Done the Version 1.01 Update Yet ?

If yours went straight to the Game it means its Installed the Basic 256mb's needed to Run the Game , as you Play it'll Install more as and when Needed

No I haven't done the update yet. I guess I'll play for now, then do the update and install the data tonight just to get it out of the way. I see the option in the menu now for installing the data.
 
Do the 1.01 Update it takes about 10 mins here on my Crap 1.8mbs Internet

After that a few things change and you can Also go Online with the Game 👍
 
Does installing the game help the shadows texture or not? I guess I'll eventually find out...but awsome game besides that!

I just did this. The game installed at the very beginning, took about 35 minutes. Then I went into utilities and hit install game data. Took 3 minutes or so. It was a waste of time though as the installed file size is still the same at 6,419MB.
 
Installing now so i grabbed the laptop and headed for a dump whilst checking out GT Planet, what better way to waste the time!

Sounds like exactly what I'll be doing when I get home. Glad I have the Apex book to take in there with me! :sly:

Indeed...the install time counter is pretty inaccurate...Mine was at 1 minute left for like 10 minutes, than 5 secs remaining for 5 minutes. Took me about 50 minutes to install.

I was so surprised that the APEX book had so much information in so little pages. It's jam packed with good petrolhead stuff. 👍
