It feels like the game is just getting harder and harder. I'm still at level 16.

Again, I'm enjoying the challenge but I see all these threads where people have golded all the licenses and are finishing the game. I feel slow. It may take me months to finish this game. Everyone wants more events but I'm not half way through the current events.

Is anyone else struggling?

Is there a prize for finishing it before Christmas?
Don't think of it as struggling, think of it as you enjoying the game and proceeding at a comfortable pace. When they are done with their game and have nothing to do, you will still have weeks more fun with it.

That doesn't really make sense. They aren't enjoying the game more by playing it less O_o. If a person finishes a game in say 30 hours over the span of 3 days or in the span of a year, it's still the same 30 hours.

As for the topic question, the only thing I'm struggling with is not jumping through the screen and throttling my B-spec driver around the neck. By level One might think he wouldn't drive like an imbecile but that isn't the case. A-spec on the other hand has been a breeze. I'm almost to the point where I've got that SV challenge unlocked. Keep workin on it, you'll get better.

There are some GT fans that do play the game outside of GT Life/Mode or even its online component. And I'm sure that there are others like me who aren't gamers at all and will probably never finish GT mode yet will spend a lot of time either racing online or even driving on their favorite track (like the Nordschleife) just for fun. And to me it usually boils down to how well the driving physics is and how well the tracks are re-created.

I am about at that same place. Getting really hard, but still enjoying it. This is the first game i have had in a while that i dont beat in a week, then sell it. Thats why i love this game so much.

btw, i have mainly bronze medals on license tests. lol. and to think i signed up for the GT acadamy. lol. Oh well it will be fun, and i am looking forward to the free dlc i get from it(cause i know i wont place).

No, GT5 is NOT kicking my unmentionables (underwear) (you would understand that if you watch Scrubs).
I am kicking its unmentionables, though.

Are you new to the GT series ? Many of us on here have been playing GT for years, that experience has helped a HUGE amount.

Finishing ? we will see, I think that is still some way off for most of us as there are just not enough hours in the day. I would suggest that only a skilled no-lifer is going to Platinum this before christmas. My aim (of course) is to go for Platinum and assume it will take until Easter and that is if I can gold the Vettel challenge - which I have not even opened as yet.

Yes, this is my first GT. The events are no problem but some of licenses are really tough to gold. The AMG special event and rally events are really tough. Sometimes GT5 laughs at me. You know that song on the soundtrack that starts with a laugh? :)

But I must say I've never played a racing game that was this challenging, fun and realistic all at the same time.

I wouldn't say I'm struggling, but I'm definitely taking my time completing the events and races now. I always try to pick a car that matches my oponents' in races, which can make for some tricky races sometimes. Some people like to buy powerful cars and obliterate the competition within the first 20 seconds of the race but I don't really see the point in that. I remember only coming second in the A-spec professional championship (don't remember its name) because that NSX would just keeping kicking my race modified lexus' a***. I am pretty far from golding every license as well, I have about 35 golds, rest is silver. I was actually going to try and get them all but after spending way more hours on IC 10 than I should have I decided to settle for silver and maybe try again later. Same with special events, I golded the easier ones (top gear, sebastien loeb, karting) but only managed to silver others like AMG and Grand tour.. I'm level 20 and still have numerous races to complete before having to grind my way to the FGT.

I'm a bit stuck grinding at level 23 A-Spec, rather frusterating. So instead I've just been collecting every car I can.

Well, I don't consider GT5 hard to beat sofar (lvl 22 A-Spec, lvl 25 B-Spec). Still, I'm not progressing very fast through GT Life.

To progress, you'd have to run races in the extreme series. Sadly, there are basically no races that interest me a lot, so I don't feel like re-running them.
If there was a race on the Nordschleife in tuned street cars, preferably without a country restriction, I'd probably be at a higher A-Spec level already.

Ive just reached Level 20 and still have 3 Licences and a ton of Special Events to get through. With those and now the Extreme Events unlocked, im still looking forward to lots of racing.

I also havent touched the B Spec, so i have that as well. I only have just over 500.000 credits though, so i will have some grinding to do if im to get close to the higher levels.

I do have some of the cars i wanted, so all in all i think im doing pretty good. Using my limited time available to enjoy it in my own way. :)

There really is no rush. Its gotta last us until GT6 comes out, and who knows how long that will take

I wonder if the op uses a dualshock. I suspect he does.

I'm using a DFP. This is my first GT.

I like sims but I'm not good at them.

I have LFS S2 license, own GTR2 and I used iRacing for a few months. Problem is none of those really give you a single player where you can improve your skills. Online is no place to be making very slow laps so you have to keep hotlaping to improve your time while watching replays. It's like work. So boring.

FM3 has a decent single player but the races are boring and not as fun and challenging as the licenses and special events in GT5.

GT5 is the only fun sim that actually teaches you how to be fast. The license tests are exceptional.

Hopefully after GT5 I'll be good enough to try iRacing again. I've already learned a lot.
