Since I failed to get enough sign up's in the Worldwide Racing Series to even start a season, I will now host single races only. This race is loosely based off of the 24 Hours of LeMons races. The race will begin at 10:30 PM US Eastern time on January 3rd, 2011. The rules are stated below:

1. No intentional crashing.
2. No adult humor or swearing.
3. Do not goof off during free run or the race.
4. Must use a car from used dealership, must be under 20,000, add dirt tires, and don't do anything else. Don't tune it, don't change oil, don't even fix the chassis. Go straight to the track after adding dirt tires.

Is 8:00 PM or 8:30 PM good enough?

EDIT: 10:30 would be fine.
 
You should set a 100hp weight limit and a KG limit to ensure people don't use the go karts.

I've got loads of crap cars, my lovely Honda Life step van is tuned though... not that it goes fast even then.

We should also race on the Top Gear Test Track, crap-car derby ya know? ")

Wait, can some cars like the fiat 500 even make it up the hills on Eiger?

As much as I find the rally portion of GT5 to be a huge challenge this sounds like a fun time. I'm west coast so I think first time you posted I moved on because I will be lucky to walk in the door at 5:30pst (8:30est) so with a later start time I think I can be there with some kind of car.

The Eiger W trail is the least steepest of all the Eiger Trails, so cars like the 500 can make it up. HP limits won't be set though as cars are still going around the same speed. No oil changes, car washes, anything. Just buy a UCD car for less than 20,000 and throw some dirt tires on it.
 
Yes, the race is in my lounge. I'll open it at 10:00.
 
That looks fun, too bad I'm at work.
What cars are some of you using? There are actually a some decent cars under $20k
 
We will pretty much be running anything that costs 20k or less. The race will probably be an hour or so. My car is a Lancer from 85'. Costs no more than 20k.
 
My wifi in the house is acting up, don't know why but I keep getting booted of the network. Trying but may not get there tonight guys.......:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:
 
:dunce:your rules kind of are killing the spirit of lemons, not the crashing one, but more the no adult humor one. if it happens it happens, don't be a party pooper
 
This would have been alot of fun to participate in...but unfortunately my work schedule doesn't allow me to get home until 11:15pm EST :grumpy:
 
Good race to all. GTP_Razor240 got lucky by getting an Impreza for a cheap price and won by many laps. Try and come to the next event Sunday!
 
That was a lot of fun. I think we should make everyone buy a new car for each event, since that is half the fun- seeing just exactly what $20k can buy you. Also, it might be fun to try some races with lower price limits, or maybe impose a power limit or something. I am up for anything, and would even repeat the same event. I hope that in the future we will get more people to join us though!
 
It was fun and I would be down for another event, just hope next time GT5 plays fair and we are all in the same race instead of 2 races oh and hopefully I won't hit a wall 20 laps in and struggle to climb hills for the rest of the race.

haha, I just ran a test lap in practice mode with damage turned off and I was 3 seconds better than my best lap from the race. That certainly would have changed things if I hadn't wrecked so early...

I practiced in my car before and know I could do 1:16's pushing and 1:20's all day with no damage, with the damage I was at least 10 seconds a lap slower.
 
That was fun for a bit, I also saw an impreza for 18k credits but opted fot the lancer instead, close racing.

No grip, brakes or traction, 1.19 was a quick lap and 1.22 consistently after 're-arranging the wheel alignment"

We should go ahead and set up a 'next time.'

Does the same time: Monday night at 10:30 work for most people?

Also, what are thoughts on price/hp/other restrictions?
