Ok, so I'm hosting a Nurburgring track day, and we've been going for maybe 90 minutes, had a fun race and so on. We back to just roaming round and suddenly, all our messages are deleted by one, saying:

Gran Turismo 5
YOU ALL HAVE GOT THE WORST CARS!

Exactly like that, with no line or anything. Explanation?

Either someone joined the lobby with the message as their 'Join Lobby' message or they were sitting watching the race and submitted a load of blank lines before submitting that message.

How exactly might someone hack the software written on a disk in your house? :D

The explanation above sounds about right. Lines before a message giving the look of a message posted by no-one. But if your in a lobby your playing on the gran turismo 5 servers therefor it's not you're disk being hacked at all, it's the server. But if that happened the GT5 servers would pretty much be down.

And it would be pretty pointless for a hacker to just write a message in you're lobby. Total waste of time.

I was in the lobby when this happened and posted another thread before looking (D'OH)
But yeah I agree with the lines before message theory. It did look more like a automatic system message rather than one from nobody though

There's another thread discussing the same thing. It had happened to another person (the thread's been closed now). But they posted a picture and the user ID is displayed as 'Gran Turismo 5'. Which apparently is an illegal username. Very strange. :odd:

Twas me, posted it before looking at this one, the guy above happened to be the host!

EDIT, the OP's PSN ID is actually in the picture haha

In that image there's no pencil icon next to the user ID, so they just wrote 'Gran Turismo 5' before the message. A pencil icon is shown to the left of the user's name, so... Yeah. At least I think it's a pencil.
