Hi everyone and welcome to the 2nd series of the Saturday Racing Club; Tuning Car World Championship!

PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP FOR THIS IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT THAT YOU CAN COMMIT TO AS MANY EVENTS AS POSSIBLE. IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF EVEN STARTING WEEK 1 THEN PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER YOUR INTEREST. THANKYOU :)

The idea. 8 races over the course of 8 weeks. Each week a new circuit with a set amount of laps. Each week will be a 2 race event at the same circuit. The 1st races grid position will be determined by your fastest lap in the free run session. The 2nd will be a reverse grid from the results of race 1. There will be no break, no going out on track after race 1 but i suggest to you all that whilst i am changing the regulations to a reverse grid that you check your PP hasn't increased. If it has then quickly lower it to the required limit, then it's straight to race 2 while we're all in the heat of the moment! Their will be a qualifying and tune up period of 30 minutes before the 1st race.

The cars. Only tuning company cars are allowed. No RM models, no race cars - not even race cars from the selected tuning companys will be allowed or regular road cars. Only cars from the following manufacturers are permitted:

AEM
AMUSE
ART MORRISON
BLITZ
GRAN TURISMO
GRAND TOURING GARAGE
HKS
HPA MOTORSPORTS
HIGH END PERFORMANCE
MINES
MUGEN
NISMO
OPERA PERFORMANCE
RE AMEMIYA
SPOON

The only restriction is on Performance Points. It will be set to 575pp. The reason behind this is that a lot of the tuning cars can barely reach that level. Any higher and we will have a very restricted list of available cars. You can use any tyres and any tuning parts. Your cars can either be tuned up or de-tuned to meet the pp level. However, just to shake things up you can only use any car ONCE and a change of colour doesn't count as a seperate car!

The tracks. Pre-determined for no particular reason other than for competitors to be able to gain prior track knowledge to enable their best possible car set ups. However, just to add interest, 2 of my course maker circuits will be included. These will be available for you to immediately download from me for you to practice on.

The race. Driving aids can be freely used to how the individual sees fit. This will hopefuly make for a level playing field for drivers of all talents and abilities. Penalties will be set to weak to discourage corner cutting and ramming. Mechanical damage will be off as this can often be unfair - such as you being hit by another car and then receiving a 'punishment' for it. Tyre wear will be on but their will be no restrictions on tyre choice. Boost is set to off.

The room will open at approximatly 1330uk current time zone with the race starting at 1400. The series is open to all on a 1st come, 1st served basis on the understanding that you ensure you are aware of your time-zone differences. At the time of writing the uk is currently in BST. 15 places are up for grabs. All real races offer prizes so let's make this no different! After the 8 weeks races have finished the prizes will work in the following way:

1st place overall = a car worth 1,000,000 credits or less from the new car dealership + 5 paints and 5 tuning parts of your choice.
2nd place overall = a car worth 500,000 credits or less from the new car dealership + 5 paints and 5 tuning parts of your choice.
3rd place overall = a car worth 250,000 credits or less from the new car dealership + 5 paints and 5 tuning parts of your choice.

Most improved driver prize - a car worth 200,000 credit's or less from the new car dealership.

Full 8 weeks commitment = a car worth 150,000 credits or less from the new car dealership.

7 and 5 weeks commitment = a car worth 125,000 credits or less from the new car dealership.

4 weeks commitment = a car worth 100,000 credit's or less from the new car dealership.

Naturaly, i have ruled myself out of any prizes.

1st place 20 points
2nd place 18 points
3rd place 16points
4th place 14 points
5th place 12 points
6th place 11 points
7th place 10 points
8th place 9 points
9th place 8 points
10th place 7 points
11th place 6 points
12th place 5 points
13th place 4 points
14th place 3 points
15th place 2 points
16th place 1 point

Quiting the race before the race has finished means no points. Any actions on track deemed unfair or not in the spirit of these races will result in your PSN ID being wiped from my account meaning you will no longer be a part of the league. If you have been reported for making a driving infringement (such as corner cutting where the penalty system doesn't intervene) then the footage will be reviewed and a decision will follow from there.

Please register your interest. Once confirmed, add me on PSN.

Course list :

Nurburgring GP-F
Circuito De Madrid
Course Maker track - Eifel Circuit
Cape Ring Periphery
Suzuka
Course Maker track - Toscana Tarmac
Grand Valley Speedway
Nurburgring Nordschleife - night race.

This looks cool. I was myself going to suggest having 2-race events with a reversed grid on the second round, but good to see that it's going to be in for sure. The only difference was that I would have had a 'Sprint Race' with half the distance of the main race and a different point system, but we'll see if this works out better.

I'll be in. This is gonna be fun.

Excellent! I did consider a sprint and a main race but thought it better to do it like this as it's our 1st attempt. maybe season 3 can be shook up even further. Glad to have a top quality racer on board already!

I've added a new points structure, i reckon it will keep things nice and tight with the 2 races and reverse grid!

I've also added a note about checking your PP hasn't risen after race 1 while i change the grid setting.

Courses added too 👍

Hmm, well, I think it's time to submit my other rule suggestions now that the new season is indeed confirmed. If you guys want to vote for them, then be my guest.

1. Extra points for pole position and fastest lap?
Basically, this rule would probably tighten the competition in the qualifying practice and also in the race, since in a close championship battle, every little point is definitely going to be useful. 3 or 2 points for pole/fastest lap would work nicely. Naturally, pole position at race 2 wouldn't award any points, since it's achieved by just finishing last in race 1. However, there are some additional problems to solve...
- The qualifying results are sometimes glitched up. The well-known glitch is that all your times become invalidated if you exit the track (pitting is allowed, but returning to the lounge is not or else you have to start from scratch). And sometimes, the grid will just be completely different from the list that appears at the very end of the qualifying session. To make sure the points go to the right driver, we would need to make sure that everyone knows who had first position at the end of the session.
In the SRC season 1, there have now been 3 races where the polesitter was different from the fastest qualifier. In Suzuka, the reason was that glitch I mentioned first, but in Nürburgring and Le Mans, something else went wrong. I had the fastest time in Nürb, but X180 was on pole. In Le Mans, I saw Filip_Ovik in the leading position at the end of qualifying yet according to X180, he was up there instead, but then suddenly I had pole position...
- As for the fastest lap, it would need to be checked from a replay, or in another, but more difficult case, everyone would need to list their best time of the race. However, I doubt everyone remembers it anymore after a long delay between the end of the race and the entry into the lounge.

2. Rolling start for race 2?
It's going to get crowded if there are 16 cars with the fastest in the back. To avoid a major carnage in the first corner (which is likely if there's a standing start) we could consider using a rolling start for it. Another possible solution would be just encouraging a gentlemanly approach for the first turn, but it won't stop an occasional pile-up caused by just one driver who tries to brake a lot later than the rest.

I think point 1 is totaly unworkable for the reasons you have suggested! It will make things far too complicated. I wasn't too bothered about being de-moted to 6th today - by turn 1 i was in 3rd. It's unfortunate but nothing at all can be done about it.

I will look into a rolling start. However, it normaly results in huge gaps forming rather than keeping bunched up but like i say, i'll look into it and consider it :)

What i will say though is at the 1st race of season 1 i was getting questioned and quized about the rules and regulations. These rules and regs' are set in stone, this time i'm not moving on anything. Without wishing to be rude to anyone at all, if you don't agree with any of the rules then quite simply do not sign up! This series has no starting date so i will sit it out until i have 15 racers who are happy and commited to the series! :)

EDIT: There is no option for a rolling start, only reverse based on previous race results. We'll stick with the original plan. Trying to implement a rolling start by doing a lap and placing ourselves in order will be just too much hassle.

Isn't there another part in the settings where you can change the start type? There were at least Standing start, Standing start with false start check, and the Rolling start, which can definitely be used along with the reversed grid. :)

I've just been playing online and not seen any option for a rolling start.

Hmm, it looks like something is wrong. I swear there used to be a Rolling Start available in the settings (and a 4th option which I don't remember). Well, fine enough for me to use a grid start for both races, that will probably indeed increase the excitement of the race. :)

Everything is now clear to me, I'll let the other future entrants take over now so this wouldn't go into a 2 man chat :sly:

You know my way of coming, I join most of the time, but it's up to you to choose wether to include me. But I keep having connection issues, I got DC'd 5 times tonight. :nervous:

I can swear on that as well, I remember there being an option saying "Rolling start" an then another saying "Rolling start - Dbl. Lane".

Fishy, you're welcome to sign up. However if you don't mind i'd like to class you currently as a reserve as i am hoping that i can get a grid full of weekly drivers. If that can't be achieved then a place is yours :)

Yeah, I don't think this'll get filled with UK players, even though the nation has generated several entries for the Season 1. The non-europlayers (well, only one has entered our series so far) would only have problems with time if it's relatively early or late in their country, but fine enough if we get more entries around the earth. 👍

Ugh, why do I always have to write a novel?

I've altered the part about uk players, don't know why i included that bit to be honest!

Scrapping this series before it's even started for 2 reasons; 1) no interest in weeks and 2) because of the reorganisation of the forums the only way i could find my own thread was by clicking on my signature - how's anyone else meant to find it?

SERIES ENTRIES ALL CANCELLED.

Thanks to those who showed interest, sorry it wont be happening.
