Excellent video showing the making of Halo CE Anniversary. Graphics are looking much better than I expected.

Are there any pre-order bonuses for this game? I haven't really heard anything about it for a while.
Yes. http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/games/halo-combat-evolved-anniversary/91401

•Master Chief Avatar Armor
•"Grunt Funeral" Skull

You have the ability to see the old graphics vs the new graphics at the touch of a button ANY time you are playing. The fact that this will be a co-op campaign online has me very interrested especially since the price truly is only $39.99. 343 sure is doing a great job.

Hmm, the Grunt Funeral Skull looks intriguing. Will pre-order this when I go to pick FM4 up.

Sounds like it will be very similar to the "Grunt Birthday Party" thats in Halo 3 and Halo Reach. Cant ever get enough of that. I even have that as my armor ability in Reach. Pop "Yeahhhhh!" :)

At first I had no interrest in this game at all but now its growing on me especially with co-op campaign online and multiplayer. Plus $39.99 is not bad.

For some reason I don't think I'll be getting this game. I already have HCE. GOt it for xmas a couple years ago. I just can't bring myself to go get it again.

Come to think of it . . . I don't think I've even beat it yet.

With this one you can play through the entire co-op campaign online. And the multiplayer will also be online. Thats why I figure I will pick it up. I only rented CE and played through the it 1 time. I never played the CE mp. So this will pretty much be a new experience for me. I will keep an eye on it but I am pretty sure I will be buying this.

Words cannot describe...how much I will end up disliking this game.

Mainly because I still play CE regularly. I mean, it's not Bungie, it's not O'Donnell and Salvatori on the music.

It's just...not gunna be Halo!

Your reply just simply does not make sense to me. They already stated the campaign plays EXACTLY the same as the original. But at the push of a button you can see the new graphics. Or play the old graphics.

As for the multiplayer it is also EXACTLY the same if you play using the old CE engine. Or you can play using the new Reach engine. Its the exact same game but co-op online, better graphics, and the ability to use the Reach engine if you want. But the multiplayer with the reach engine has been tweaked for the new armor effects. The old CE multiplayer is EXACTLY the same. If you want to play it the way the original was played, you can do that. If you want to play with the new Reach engine in CE maps, you can do that too. Oh CE will also have Firefight.

Plus I am sure you realize 343 Studios contains many of the members from Bungie.

So...I'm paying £40 for something I already have?

Well thanks for the clarification mate, time to go cancel a pre-order, get my £40, and bag a cheap prozzy.

Halo 4, on the other hand, is taking a crippling route with the canon. Me ne gusta.

You can play the original CE multiplayer online with others? no
You can play the original CE co-op campaign online with others? no
You can play the original CE with the new graphics and audio? no
You can play Firefight with the original CE? no
You can use the new Reach engine with loadouts in new designed maps in the original CE? no
You clearly havent read or comprehended anything that was posted about this game. But hey enjoy spending the £40 on your cheap prozzy. 👍

All your questions mate...consider one thing.

Can I do those on my PC copy...yes. Graphics are...okay. Firefight is...eh.

Still 500 strong on the PC version, and Custom Edition is practically booming for a ten year old game.

I've got to say, when I first played H:CE, I thought it was the most mind-blowing game ever. I think one of the vids, the creator was saying they aren't making this to improve or change the actual game play, all they are doing is just improving graphics.
I personally think this game as an anniversary to tribute to the original game to all the fans who greatly enjoyed the original game rather than a re-vamp in proving game play and to cater to new audiences, but to give back some of the nostalgia of a great game.

I have decided that I will be pre-ordering Halo Anniversary this weekend. I was never able to check out the halo CE multiplayer because I didnt get into Halo until Halo 2. So this will be my opportunity to see what I missed.

According to this video you dont even need Halo Anniversary to play the new Halo Ce maps. You will actually be playing with people that are in Reach!

Anyone else pick this up yesterday?

I bought this yesterday and played the co-op campaign for a couple hours with a friend. I think we spent more time clicking the back button to view the graphics before and after. What an awesome feature and in some spots its a dramatic improvement.

My first introduction into the Halo series was with Halo 2 so I was never able to experience Halo CE. So this has been an entirely new experience for me. It has also cleared up a lot of confusion I had with the halo Series. I like how CE starts off exactly where Reach ended. That was quite confusing for me until I played CE last night. Playing through as a co-op is a blast. We do get lost quite a bit but its still a lot of fun.

My only issue with the game so far is the sketchy framerate. Most of the time it's really smooth, but when quite a few enemies appear on screen it starts to noticeably slow down. It's not a big deal of course, but it is a tad disappointing because I never experienced that with my original copy on my Xbox.

Still, Halo: Combat Evolved is by far the best game in the series (in my opinion) and it's great to be able to play it again. I've not tried online co-op yet, but am eager to do so.

The Halo 3 co-op campaign is still my favorite co-op campaign of the entire series. Which ironically is a LOT like the Halo CE co-op campaign. But the H3 campaign had Scarab battles and just so much more epic stuff than CE.

I remember my first encounter with the Scarab.

Me-"SO what is the Scarab?"
My Friend-"It's this gigantic four legged bug type thing with heavy armor."
Me-"Yeah, well it must be small, I see nothing!"
Giant leg lands right next to me.
Me-"Holy S:censored:t!!!"

Haha, good times. Makes me miss Halo 3.

I'm considering getting this for Christmas. I got my Xbox last year, and it was the Halo Reach special edition, so Reach was my first Halo game. I borrowed 3 and ODST from a friend and didn't like them.

If you have not played Halo 3 co-op campaign then I HIGHLY suggest getting it. I would even suggest Halo 3 over Halo Anniversary. H3 is easily the best campaign of the entires series. ODST was the worst Halo game of the series, Reach campaign was ok. Halo 3 campaign was just so epic and so incredible. In fact if you get it and want a co-op partner to help you get through the campaign, I am always up for Halo 3 campaign and never get sick of it. Love that campaign. :dopey:
In fact I just looked up my stats on Bungie and it says I have completed over 277 campaign missions of Halo 3.
