Dude, what a bummer! Well, have at it again, all we have is time! Not to mention, Laguna is a great track.

But I feel for ya, that would erk me also...but cheer up butter cup, give it another 2 hrs 10!

Because it somehow sound right. I did it for years.

These stories are what keep me away from the endurance races, I know I'd be absolutely pissed if that would happen to me.

Ouch! 👎 I accidentally hit the "restart" on the roadster endurance with a couple minutes to go once. :\

I got 2nd place on that race in a premium Corvette (I think it was the '04 model detuned to around 350 HP to match the lowest HP car in SH). However, it wasn't a very enjoyable race. I didn't tuned its suspension, diff, etc. at all, and it handled pretty badly. Once an hour came in I was already tired with the car, but I kept pushing it. Then I couldn't take it anymore after 5-10 laps but I still kept pushing. Once I crossed the finish line the 1st position was around a 10-30 seconds gap. I think he was in a Viper.

Why do people keep making this mistake?

"Would have" is generally contracted to a "Would've" in spoken English which can easily be heard as "Would of" considering how "of" is often pronounced amidst certain words ("Ace of Spades" being a prominent example).

It's also often indicative of a lack of understanding of / having been taught "the conditional" itself; most foreigners learn this explicitly, whereas native speakers generally just pick it up by ear (often incorrectly), so it's often not included in education (I certainly don't remember being taught it.)

@TWINKLE I hope it doesn't put you off trying again sometime, but that really sucks. :ouch:

hopefully people will speak more better now

LOL :)
I get really ennoyed here in Naaarwich, as people tend to speak their own lingo :nervous:
They drifff cars up the rooouds and go down the shaaaps to get the paper :yuck:
Never mind, after 16 years living here, I'll get used to it sometime :)

I finished it in a X2010 pushing all cars away i didn't like to let the Prowler win. At the end i accidently smashed into him and he was overtaken twice. I wasn't amused.
