Which is the best way to drive in a race?

Depends.
Rally racing can get slightly dirty ya know ;)

But in all seriousness, drive clean. Bumping not only pisses people off, but in many cases slows you down or knocks you out of contention for obvious reasons

I'm asking this question because most of the time when I'm in a race, I try to drive clean but other cars use my car as brakes and try to play bumper karts, which tends to provoke me and end up making me driving like them, but when I do drive like an idiot on purpose even when the rest are trying to drive clean, I tend to win a lot, although I do feel a bit bad at the end of it.

Just put on strong penalty... sorts out the tooing and froing.

Race fair. Make rules at beginning of race. Let them be clear. If ur in 1st place. You get to pick ur line. Can hold or choose another if ud like. I believe you can only make 1 block per corner. If they get aggressive then give it back.

I second that!

Well with my time in gt5 online, You will always get more respect driving clean and fast. Winning by hitting cars off the road makes you look like a 9 year old but when you can beat people clean they have no excuses.

If you are asking how to drive clean and fast then the best advise i can give you is always brake early unless passing before a corner, This also let's you hit your Apex harder and you will have faster exit speed. You will always have better times from being consistent then running the risk of going off the track.

When i get out in front i make it my misson to not push my car beyond it's grip levels, If you are hitting your marks every corner the guy behind will start to push it and almost always lose control somewhere on the track.

A fast driver is a consistent driver.

I always drive a clean race to the best of my ability. Racing in open lobbies is frustrating to say the least. I don't recall a race where there wasn't bumping, complaining, and/or general immaturity in an open lobby. That's why I only race with people I know will drive clean while being aggressive. If you can race to the max of your ability and not have to worry about if the other people are going to knock you off the track, then you have found some great GT5 friends.

That's more of a quiz night question to be honest.

It's obviously clean. :p

Yeah clean is the best.

I have made lots of great psn buddies after having great clean races even whilst during free run.

You will gain respect...many a times i have had an add request with "you seemed like a decent clean racer do you want to race some other time"

and they have gone on to be be good friends and great to trade with.

If you do wanna drive dirty keep an eye for the "dirty racing" being hosted at times.....that can be fun too and no one minds as its stated in the lobby title.

just my opinion anyhows

The best style to race is the style you agerred upon with the mates in your lobby ;)

When you're in the mood for going mad, do some Destruction Derby, when you want the challenge of a fair race, race fair.

I can't see any 'MUST Do' in either way.

I usually drive clean and if there is a slower driver in front of me, I try to push him to the limits staying near to him, but never hitting him. If I accidentally hit someone and then overtake him, I leave the position. Fair is good 👍

Clean, even when provoked. If the guy/gal (they do play GT5 you know) behind you starts to bump you or make stupid decsions, let 'em through. The slipstream may have been toned down, but it's still enough for you to keep the person in front of you within overtaking distance. If they made stupid errors chasing, chances are they'll start "Brake checking" you and the such. Simply keep on them and wait for them to try it coming off a long straight, early braking on a straight=basic late braking overtake :)

It depends...

I was in a race for ZR1 RM Corvettes last night. Newguywhocantread joins us and selects an Enzo just before the countdown clock puts us on track.

What do you think happened next.

Your post made me laugh for a good 5 minutes! Bless you!

Clean and fair racing is the basis of satisfactory and entertaining play as well as obedience of some manners commonly appreciated among us, but it depends on the situation whom you're racing with and what the party is for in my opinion.

If you and your friends are gathering in one lobby for purpose of frivolous acts like rumming each other and trying to escape off track, you
can do them freely. While your mates require a decent racing then you do race them cleanly and fairly.

Clean but agressive. What I mean is be clean, don't bump, wait for your chance, but put pressure on the guy ahead of you. That's my way, but sometimes I bump (not intentional) because sometimes I driver extremely agressive (it's not that I want, it just happens lol)

Clean is boring, dirty is way more fun, stupid nobody organizes dirty shuffle races, i saw it only once and had to stop after one race.
